Liveblogging the RNC

No, not me, silly. Allah is doing some liveblogging and has come up with some priceless works of blog-art tonight. And he's still going strong.

According to Drudge, Chris Matthews was jumped by one of those scary hooded protesters. Other conventioneers and Bush/Cheney supporters have been roughed up, spat at and had blood flung upon them. I'm looking at Matthews on MSNBC right now - I can't tell if he's looking out of the corner of his eye for another attacker or is just having a hard time reading the teleprompter. For some reason his beady eyes are shiftier than usual, though.

As far as what's going on inside the convention, who the hell knows. Apparently Elizabeth Dole was speaking, which means that everyone in the convention hall will have their handguns confiscated for their own good.

For the most part, I'm watching Maria Sharapova in her little grey & red outfit in the third set of her first-round U.S. Open match versus Laura Granville. I wish the USA Network would just leave the camera on Maria's side of the court for the love of Pete.

UPDATE: Arnold just came on stage. His first comments were: "THE GOGGLES, THEY DO NOTHING!" I can't wait to see what's next.
