Kenneth Bigley beheaded

Abu Dhabi television is reporting that British hostage Kenneth Bigley has been beheaded by his loving captors.

His crime? Well, really two-fold. Most importantly, being non-muslim. Next, helping to rebuild and modernize Iraq's infrastructure instead of allowing Iraq to swim in a cesspool of 8th-century islamic theocratic squalor like the rest of the middle east.

Bigley also paid the tab for Tony Blair's crime of not following France & Italy's lead in handing over cash for Bigley's release. Updates to follow.

Jeff Quinton at Backcountry Conservative has an MSNBC report that suggests that Bigley may have been killed during an attempted escape.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Two television stations, quoting sources, reported Friday that British hostage Kenneth Bigley had been killed by his captors.

At the Pentagon, meanwhile, U.S. military sources told NBC News that they have reports from Iraq that Bigley might have been killed while trying to escape. The reports indicate that a number of "others" who might have been trying to help Bigley escape were also killed, the sources said.

If this means that there was a rescue attempt and we know where these bastards are, I hope they're all greasy stains on the floor by now. Wishful thinking perhaps.

International House of Jawas reports that Al Reuters acknowledges the existence of a video of Bigley's decapitation.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A video released by Muslim militants shows them beheading British hostage Kenneth Bigley, a Reuters witness says.

Bigley was shown making a statement as six militants stood behind him before one cut his head off with a knife.

Guerrilla sources in the rebel-held city of Falluja said earlier that he was killed on Thursday afternoon in Latifiya, a Sunni Muslim town southwest of Baghdad.

The tape showed Bigley wearing an orange jump suit of the type worn by detainees in U.S. prisons including the detention centre at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba.

Al Reuters does not say whether or not it donated one of its cameramen to help with the filming, though speculation is rampant.
