Pot, meet kettle

This weekend, John Boy Edwards, took a break from channeling the spirits of deceased infants, and gave another rousing campaign speech near Philadelphia.

John Boy is plum ticked off that Speaker of the House Denny Hastert made the following observation:

"I don't have data or intelligence to tell me one thing or another, [but] I would think they would be more apt to go [for] somebody who would file a lawsuit with the World Court or something rather than respond with troops," Hastert said of Kerry.

Asked by reporters whether he believes al Qaeda could operate better with Kerry in the White House, Hastert replied: "That's my opinion, yes."

"Instead of attacking Republicans, John Edwards should help John Kerry explain to the American people his inconsistent and contradictory positions on national security, intelligence and other defense issues," Hastert spokesman John McGovern said Sunday.

John Boy is offended that Hastert has the nerve to point out the obvious - Al Qaeda will be much better off if Lurch wins the election. Their philosophy is the same as that of their fellow travelers in the U.S. - anybody but Bush. He got so gosh-darned riled up that he responded with a press release accusing Hastert of being dang un-american.

One clear sign of weakness and failed leadership is when a politician stoops to the politics of fear. In the last twenty- four hours Dennis Hastert, the Speaker of the House, has joined the fear mongering choir. Last night, he said something to the effect that Al Qaeda wants John Kerry to be President of the United States. Let me say this in the simplest possible terms: when John Kerry is President of the United States, we will find Al Qaeda where they are and crush them before they can do damage to the American people.

Yeah, I believe that. When I think national security, the word Democrat is the last one that comes to mind.

So while John Boy was hollerin' about "fear mongering," what was Lurch's sister doing? Why, drumming up some fear mongering of her own in Australia!

John Kerry's campaign has warned Australians that the Howard Government's support for the US in Iraq has made them a bigger target for international terrorists.

Diana Kerry, younger sister of the Democrat presidential candidate, told The Weekend Australian that the Bali bombing and the recent attack on the Australian embassy in Jakarta clearly showed the danger to Australians had increased.

"Australia has kept faith with the US and we are endangering the Australians now by this wanton disregard for international law and multilateral channels," she said, referring to the invasion of Iraq.

Asked if she believed the terrorist threat to Australians was now greater because of the support for Republican George W. Bush, Ms Kerry said: "The most recent attack was on the Australian embassy in Jakarta -- I would have to say that."

So let me help you with leftist hypocrisy definition example #4179B:

  • Republican Fear Mongering = BAD
  • Dim-O-Crack Fear Mongering = GOOD
