Debate night - I can't look

I can't look for a couple of reasons. One, I know what's going to happen. Two, no matter what happens, it's not going to change my vote, it's just going to piss me off.

Here's a sneak peek:

Lehrer: Mr. Bush, why do you enjoy killing Iraqi children for sport?
Bush: [Insert bumbling malaprop here]
Lehrer: Senator Kerry, why do you think Mr. Bush enjoys killing children, drinking their blood and drilling for oil where their carcasses lay?
Kerry: Well... [Insert condescending haughty long-winded prevarication disguised as policytalk]
Thank you gentlemen...

Now do you see why I can't watch?

Plenty of folks are live blogging in varying states of inebriation. (I'm taking it nice and slow with some bourbon whiskey while I avoid the debate.) Enjoy these roundups:

Blogs of War - stone cold sober
Johnny Walker Red - not live blogging, but probably drinking Budweiser and chain smoking
Ace of Spades - Ace has a hilarious drinking game in which you must participate
The Commissar - he doesn't appear to be drinking, but hard to say
Spoons - updating so quickly he must be sober
Martinipundit - Martini - shaken - but not sure if it's Gin or Vodka
Powerline - apparently it's getting pretty wild over there - well, as wild as bloggers can get
Armies of Liberation - finds good news with a snap bus stop poll

10/1 UPDATE:

The question on everyone's mind this morning is who won the debate?

From what I can tell, it depends on which way you're already leaning. I've been sampling the right-leaning bloggers mainly, and they're calling it a wash or a slight Bush victory. If you sample the lefties, it was a blowout for Lurch - he mopped the floor with Bush. What does this add up to? 6 1/2 tons of nothing.

If you're an elitist, internationalist, bedwetting NY-Times-reading surrender socialist, then you got all the multi-lateral U.N.-loving "Bush lied people died" garbage you wanted out of the debate. All the while, you enjoyed watching President Junior stumble while trying to remember his words.

If you are a Bush supporter, you may have done a lot of cringing, but you got a reminder that Bush is about substance, character and leadership in the global war on islamofascism. That's the only issue that matters this campaign.

I'm not voting for Bush to go win intellectual bullshit debates against the world's tin-pot dictators and Al Qaeda leadership. I'm voting for Bush so that all that's left of these tyrants and islamofascists is a greasy stain in the desert.

No debate is going to change the fact that Bush is willing to fight the war and Lurch is willing to hoist the white flag of surrender. And that's the bottom line, bitches.

Religion of Peace™ wipes out 34 Iraqi kids

(via Fox News)

Bombs kill 41 in Iraq - 34 of them kids.

BAGHDAD, Iraq — At least three bombs exploded near a U.S. convoy in western Baghdad on Thursday, killing 34 children and three adults, a hospital official said. Hours earlier, a homicide car bombing killed a U.S. soldier and two Iraqis on the capital's outskirts.

It was unclear if the bombs — which also wounded 137 people, including 10 U.S. soldiers — targeted the convoy or a ceremony marking the opening of a new sewage system in the neighborhood that was taking place at the same time. Also unknown was the nationalities of the casualties or whether there were U.S. soldiers among the dead.

If there are two things that the islamofascists hate more than anything else - it's the modernization of sewage/water/infrastructure and children who are still alive.

Swamped at work today, so visit these fine folks covering this most recent ROP™ massacre:

Sergeant Gomer Pyle Carter reporting for duty

Excellent piece this morning by one of the intellectuals over at FrontPageMag regarding President Failure's historical love for tyrants and recent pronouncements that Bush was selected, not elected. It seems that Jimmuh forgot to take his meds and is blathering on about the election has already been stolen again by those meanies down in Florida.

Finally, Jimmy Carter—a man who has given the thumbs up to the “elections” of some of the world’s worst tyrants—has found an election with which he can take issue.

Too bad the one place in the world he is willing to single out for scolding—preemptively—is Florida. (And expect the DNC to be waving it in the event of a close race there.)

Don't worry - they're already planning for the recount in several states. Gore set the table, now Lurch & John Boy are going to chow down.

Beyond Carter's nitwittery about Florida 2000 - which these bedwetting leftists will still not shut up about - Carter's history is littered with the carcasses of faux elections that he called "fair and square".

Because of provisions in the infamous Oslo Accords, Palestinians in 1996 had their first—and to date, only—opportunity to elect their own leader. Not that they had much of a choice, though.

Controlling all major television and radio, Yasser Arafat made sure that he dominated the airwaves. Editors and reporters at newspapers not directly under Arafat’s thumb were threatened and intimidated with beatings and arrests. And Arafat’s sole opponent was a 72-year-old woman, a social worker named Samiha Khalil who got, in the words of the New York Times, a "surprisingly high" 9 percent of the vote.

Hardly the stuff of a real election, yet Carter described this mess as "open and fair."

You know how much Jimmuh loves the PLO and islamofascists in general. So much so, that he donated several of our helicopters to them in Iran back in '79. While Carter loves those radical islamists - he's not in love with them - his true loves are Central American Marxists.

Carter's love of thugs has not waned over the years. Last month, he certified the widely condemned referendum in which Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez supposedly won by a wide margin of 59-to-41.

Exit polling conducted by the highly regarded Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates, however, found the exact opposite result: 59 percent opposed the communist "President," with only 41 percent in favor.

As explained by the Wall Street Journal's Mary O'Grady, Carter lacked the ability to prove the exit polls wrong (which could not have been 36 points off), because he only had access to a sampling of the easy-to-manipulate software tabulations printed out by voting booths. Not that it stopped him, though.

It should come as no surprise that Carter sided with the despot over a respected (Democratic) polling firm. Not just because of his disturbing track record, but because he and Chavez share a close, mutual friend: Fidel Castro.

In a stomach-turning first-person essay on his trip to Cuba in May 2002 that reads like a "My summer vacation with a bloodthirsty tyrant," Jimmy Carter writes, "President Castro and I had a friendly chat about growing peanuts" on the way to the hotel, and then later "[t]hat evening President Castro and I had a general discussion of issues and then enjoyed an ornate banquet."

With prose that might make even Castro’s PR flacks blush, Carter lavishes praise on Cuba’s "superb systems of health care and universal education," "a remarkable medical school," and the "amazing musical and dance performances" of "mentally retarded and physically handicapped children." Then, this doozy: that the "fundamental right [of civil liberties enjoyed by Americans to change laws] is also guaranteed to Cubans."

What Carter neglected to mention was that while he was staying at a hotel off-limits to ordinary Cubans, Castro was probably busy killing a political enemy or jailing innocent citizens.

Ol' Jimmy Carter was and always will be a presidential failure and a mental midget. It is nice to have him around, though. We need the entertainment - all the new, younger leftists are so angry that they're just no fun.

American traitor sadly still alive, seeks commuted sentence

Yeah, I'd forgotten about him too. John Walker Lindh, hero to American leftists everywhere, is now requesting that his 20-year sentence be commuted.

John Walker Lindh asked President Bush on Tuesday to commute his 20-year prison sentence for aiding the Taliban.

His lawyer, James Brosnahan, said that Lindh was fighting alongside the Taliban in a civil war against the Northern Alliance, that he is not a terrorist and that he never fought against U.S. troops.

The tragedy of this story is that we even know Walker's name. This should have been a story we never heard about, because it should have been dealt with in Afghanistan with a 40-caliber shell. This traitorous piece of California street trash should have been treated no differently than any of the other Taliban enemies that were appropriately offed.

Instead, we have to keep this scumbag alive in our prison system, listening to his rat-bastard lawyer bleat on about this and that. I hope they'll extend his prison term just because he had the nerve to ask for clemency.

More on vote suppression efforts

Jeff has received his official VRWC marching orders and has declared that Democracy is too important to leave to the voters. Now more than ever, brother.

Important update: With the 'election' 5 weeks away, our Cyberfraudware™, aka 'Black5 2.0,' is in place. When the tallies come in, Bush will receive 99% of the vote. This crushing defeat will surely silence our adversaries & send them whimpering into the corner to sulk. (See Fox News plant: "Expert Predicts Phreaking Huge Landslide")

"HOWEVER - we're still instructing our forces to interfere with the voting, as we did in Florida 2000. You will be assigned a precinct station, & provided with the names & photographs of suspect voters. If you see one arriving, trip them or push them down. Club them over the head. If necessary, a cleaner (code name 'XRLQ') will be sent to break their legs. (See Fox News plant: "Precinct Mugging Just Awful New Danger".)

"A squadron of security moms has been enlisted by a pushy operative (code name 'Michelle Malkin') to ferry you from precinct to precinct, in case people become suspicious."

This is just the tip of the iceberg for outdoing our 2000 VRWC efforts.

Great news about the two Simonas

Lose/lose on immigration

While surfing from Monday Night Football to Family Guy last night, I tripped and fell upon part of a Bill O'Reilly interview with President Junior. Much like a car crash, I couldn't look away.

To his credit, Bill asked the President one of the questions I would ask - "how do you plan to stop the flow of an estimated 3 million-plus illegals from streaming into this country?" After stumbling around and trying to find some words, the President said that (paraphrasing) they're coming here to find work and feed their families. He said they needed temporary worker cards (translation: amnesty) as if this was some kind of answer to the question.

At least the President didn't hide the Republican agenda of open borders for cheap labor. If illegal immigration is your issue this Presidential election, you're out of luck. The Republicans want to keep illegals streaming into the country so that they'll have someone to provide cheap labor for construction, landscaping and other manual labor that the American underclass is too good to perform. The Dim-O-Cracks would like to erase our national borders altogether as an excuse to expand the welfare state and rope in millions more dim-o-crack voters - plus, there's nothing they can't stand worse than national soverignity. The Republicans are fools if they think illegals are going to punch any chads for the GOP.

It's a lose/lose this election cycle for anyone who wants to seal off the borders and protect our economy from the drain of illegals and our cities from the threat of terrorists using the same entries into the U.S.

Why bother shipping jobs overseas when we can have foreigners doing those jobs here at home?

FYI, if any of you illegals are unsure where to cross the border, Michelle Malkin has some helpful directions for you...

The debate over watching the debates

President Junior came out today and said that Lurch could spend 90 minutes debating himself.

I've got to give his handlers some credit. This particular address did have some good zingers buried in it - much better than the usual stump speech.

At an Ohio campaign event, Bush referred to his practice sessions for the debate at his Texas ranch over the weekend.

"It's been a little tough to prepare because (Kerry) keeps changing positions on the war on the terror," he joked.

"He voted for the use of force in Iraq and then didn't vote to fund the troops," Bush said. "He complained that we're not spending enough money to help in reconstruction in Iraq and now he's saying we're spending too much. He said it was the right decision to go into Iraq and now he calls it the wrong war.

"He could probably spend 90 minutes debating himself," Bush added to hoots of laughter from his supporters.

Kerry responded that with American soldiers' lives on the line in Iraq, it was no time for jokes.

"When U.S. soldiers are in harm's way, the American people don't want jokes and fantasy spin from their president, they want to hear the truth," he said in a statement issued from Spring Green, Wisconsin where he is preparing for the debate.

Meanwhile, in Flyover City, USA (and I'm sure it pains Lurch to have to travel to where the commoners live), Lurch is calling for an end to campaign television advertising. That means they must be working.

Kerry said America's middle classes had suffered from the huge tax cuts that Bush had presided over and which Democrats say mainly benefit the most wealthy.

Yeah, the middle class (myself included) hates it when we get to keep more of our money instead of handing it over to Washington elitists like Lurch, who piss it away with reckless abandon. What an elitist, condescending asshole.

On to the debates - am I the only one dreading them and planning not to watch them at all? There is nothing that makes me cringe quite as much as watching a Bush press conference or debate. Yes, I'm voting for him, but he is absolutely horrible when he has to ad lib. He's not that much better when the speech is written and fully rehearsed.

My only hope is that Lurch comes off like the haughty, over-priveleged bastard that he is and that Bush comes off as the genuine Texan that I wish he was. I'm sure plenty of good blogfolk will be live blogging the debate, so perhaps I'll just check out some of their reviews after it's all over. I just don't think I have the stomach to watch.

Sinead O'Connor to planet Earth: "Cut it out, you guys!"

Sinead O'Connor has taken out a full page ad in the Irish Examiner asking people to quit poking fun at her.

DUBLIN, Ireland (AP) - One-time pop sensation Sinead O'Connor was back in the news Friday - by taking out a full-page ad pleading for people to stop making fun of her.

O'Connor, who shot to international fame in 1990 with her biggest hit Nothing Compares 2 U, claimed she had been "consistently ridiculed, lashed and called mad" for decades, particularly in her native Ireland.

"I don't think there can be any person male or female from this country who has been as consistently lashed as I have been and always am no matter what I set out to do," she complained during her 2,000-word essay published in the Irish Examiner newspaper.

"If ye all think I am such a crazy person why do ye use me to sell your papers?" she wrote, adding, "Please, I just want to be a little old lady now, and not be all controversial and not be bashed and called crazy and laughed at when I open my mouth to sing or speak."

Call me puzzled, but did I miss something? Has anyone actually talked about her in a decade or so?

It's a good news Monday

(via Rusty Shackleford)

The islamofascist scumbag who kidnapped and killed Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl has reportedly been killed in Pakistan.

Pakistan says security forces have killed a top al-Qaida militant who was allegedly involved in two assassination attempts on President Pervez Musharraf, a close U.S ally in the war on terrorism.

Officials say that one of the country's most wanted men, Amjad Hussain Farooqi, was killed in a gunfight with security forces in the southern Pakistani town of Nawabshah. The man had a price of more than $300,000 on his head and was believed to be a key link between local extremist groups and the al-Qaida terror network.

Good riddance to another piece of Al Qaeda human debris and kudos to whomever took the winning shot(s). I share Rusty's sentiment: Amjad Hussain Farooqi can rot in hell.

Others on the Pearl case include Backcountry Conservative, In The Bullpen.

In other good news today, (via Jihad Watch) there is word that the two Italian hostages may still be alive and in good condition.

I hope to God this is true, and since it's a good news Monday, I'm going to be optimistic and avoid my tendency towards negativity.

Armies of Liberation and Diggers Realm are both on the case of the Italian hostages. Digger adds:

The terrorist now claim that they will hold the women hostage until Italy pulls all troops out of Iraq.

..."send a clear message to the Italian people and the Silvio Berlusconi government: that the Iraqi people denounces the sending of Italian troops to Iraq and calls for the courageous decision to withdraw them, like the Spanish government which pulled its troops out in order to retain its friendly ties with the Iraqi people."

Yeah, those courageous Spanish that bowed to terrorists demands. I've been covering this story pretty tightly and am happy if this information is true.

Stop the Vote!

At this time in a presidential election cycle, if you consider yourself to be one of the highly coveted "undecided" voters, you are either lying or a blithering idiot.

Why do I make such a bold assertion? Simple. Anyone who has paid even nominal attention to contemporary world issues, current domestic events or politics should have taken sides by now. I have more respect for the socialist Michael Moore-loving democrat at this point in the campaign than the blessed undecided moderate. At least the Moore sycophant knows where he/she stands and pays attention to the issues - sure, they get it completely wrong, but at least they're involved.

Whether you're an anti-Capitalist Ruckus Society™ Marxist Nader voter, a neo-lib democrat, a dope-smoking Libertarian, a big-government Republican or a supporter of any of the other dozens of candidates, you should have paid attention and taken sides by now.

That's why I'm launching the Six Meat Buffet Stop the Vote campaign!

Much like the left's many get-out-the-vote efforts (i.e. Rock the Vote, Voters for Choice, blah blah blah), my newfangled KEEP HOME THE VOTE campaign will erase the gains made by these socialist groups and keep uninformed, worthless voters from screwing things up for the rest of us. Most thinking people will agree that it is far too easy to vote in this country - not just for illegal aliens and the deceased, but for the brain-dead government-cheese-eating daytime-soap-watching handout generation.

How does my campaign work? Thanks for asking - it's a simple, three-pronged approach:

  • Sway
  • Misinform
  • Distract

First - SWAY. This first step is only necessary if you have "undecided" friends who have the capacity for logic. Use the many resources provided by the Blogosphere to inform this person (or people) just what a horrible choice John Kerry is for America. Perhaps have them enjoy Kerry's book The New Soldier or the Swift Vets' book Unfit for Command. You have many options that will sway the logical thinker away from the Vietcong candidate. If all else fails, remind them how Kerry will protect us after the next 9/11 happens here on U.S. soil.

Next - MISINFORM. If you've determined that this undecided voter is incapable of logic - this will be the case with most of these cretins - then, move to step two, misinformation. (And don't feel bad about doing this part - Rather, Brokaw, Jennings, Couric, et al, do this to them on a daily basis and they really seem to like it.) Some examples:

If you know this voter is leaning towards Dim-O-Crack candidates AND you live in a swing state, tell them that their vote will be unnecessary because you read in a MacPhereson/Smith poll that the state was no longer in play due to Kerry's 18 point lead. If they ask who MacPhereson/Smith is, just tell them that they've had a 90% effectiveness ratio in the past twelve elections, so you should listen to them.

Another example - ask your leftist-leaning friend if they've registered to vote yet. If they say no, tell them that there was a new law passed this year that allows voters to register at the polls on the same day they vote - and you don't even need I.D. Feel free to add your own misinformation as necessary.

Lastly, DISTRACT. If you haven't succeeded with your undecided friends in steps one or two, take care of your own voting early (via early voting or absentee ballot) and plan a party/getaway for yourself and some select friends out of state - perhaps even Vegas! Tell them that you got a really good deal on airfare and that's why you have to take the trip on a Monday - Wednesday instead of a weekend. In addition to being stupid, undecided left-leaning voters are also notoriously cheap. Sure, you'll spend a couple grand to throw this shin-dig, but you'll be securing the future for the rest of us. If your budget is tight, then just plan a low-cost fishing or skiing trip. Be creative.

Bloggers, we need you and your sphere on influence to spread the word about the STOP THE VOTE™ campaign. To join up, simply trackback or send an e-mail to sixmeat-at-gmail-dot-com letting me know that you want to join the campaign and I'll list and link to you here. Feel free to transport the official STOP THE VOTE logo to your own site and link back if you feel so inclined.

I know that if we get enough people involved, we can keep idiots out of the voting booth this November. We may only stop a few hundred nitwits from voting, but remember that Bush only won Florida by 537 votes in 2000 - every stopped vote counts.

Bush volunteered for duty

Ex-Tennessean and right-wing crank Johnny Walker Red has scolded me for not watching my local news and missing this story about how President Junior actually volunteered for duty during Vietnam.

First of all, Johnny, I was out of town all weekend, hence the light blogging. Second of all, I would have missed it anyway because I only watch WATE & Fox 43 because I have the hots for newsanchorbabe Danielle Banks. Mrs. Holmes does not understand this attraction. But I digress.

Retired Colonel Ed Morrisey served in the Air National Guard and is familiar with the President's record since the beginning of his service.

Opposite a portrayal of a soldier not performing his duty he describes a flyer, near the top of his class...

According to Morrisey, then-Lieutenant Bush more than fulfilled his guard requirements.

Morrisey says in the six years the President served he never failed to meet participation point requirements.

"Bush averaged 176 per year. In no year did he have less that 50," says Morrisey. "He was rated by his commander, Col. Maurice Udell in the top 5 of his pilots."

One of the criticisms leveled at the President is that he sought guard service to keep him from serving in Vietnam.

Morrisey says, "not so."

"The Air Force, in their ultimate wisdom, assembled a group of 102's and took them to Southeast Asia. Bush volunteered to go. But he needed to have 500 [flight] hours, but he only had just over 300 hours so he wasn't eligible to go,” Morrisey recalls.

Johnny Walker Red has been digging around today and has discovered that folks have been covering this story for some time now. Captains Quarters had it last month. Hobbs Online had it here yesterday and here more than a year ago. Powerline had it Friday. This one is being thoroughly debunked all over the blogosphere.

Go check out Johnny's summary on the subject.

Weekend football picks...

It's yet another big football weekend - here's your incredibly murky crystal ball to this weekend's action.

In semi-pro --- er --- college ball, Tennessee will throttle Louisiana Tech, but not cover the spread, mainly due to La Tech running back Ryan Moats. Tennessee 34, La Tech 14. Elsewhere, Alabama 24 Arkansas 17 - Brodie Croyle's backup is no slouch. Florida 51, Kentucky 14; Michigan 31, Iowa 10; Notre Dame 21, Washington 18.

After going 1/5 in the pros last week, this week can only get better. Titans 27 Jaguars 17; Colts 34, Packers 17 (sorry Lisa & Leo - they're playing indoors - Favre hates that, doesn't he?); Raiders 28, Bucs 20; Vikings 31, Bears 21; Broncos 26, Chargers 21.

In other NFL news, perpetually stoned running back Ricky Williams now has $8.6 million less to spend on weed. Someone may want to start a dope fund for him.

The John Kerry Comedy Hour featuring John Kerry

For all of Lurch's many inconsistencies and waffling positions, one thing he's been consistent about is his penchant for unintentional comedy.

This was in full force in Lurch's address to the sycophants at Temple University in Philly this morning. Actually, the CNN story doesn't make it clear if they're reporting on a speech to be given at Temple or if they received an advance copy of the speech via their DNC faxline.

The CNN story, in fact, is filled with accidental comedy bits. To wit:

"Our goal is that at the end of that, people will say, 'This guy will seek and defeat the terrorist,'" said spokesman Mike McCurry. (sic)

I don't think the people are ever going to be saying anything remotely resembling that, but good try, McMuffin. Onward with Lurch's keen commentary:

Kerry planned to outline his strategy against terrorism on Friday, a day after telling The Columbus Dispatch that the president's actions in Iraq and elsewhere show Bush masquerading as a mainstream conservative while pursuing extremist policies.

"I don't view these people as conservatives," Kerry said. "I actually view them as extreme, and I think their policies have been extreme, and that extends all the way to Iraq, where this president, in my judgment, diverted the real war on terror -- which was Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda -- and almost obsessively moved to deal with Iraq in a way that weakened our nation, overextended our armed forces, cost us $200 billion and created a breach in our oldest alliances."

Point by point, Lurch & John Boy have already laid out their strategy against terrorism - cut, run, hide and hope we don't get hit. Then, after we suffer another slaughter, they'll really go after those terrorists by begging the U.N. for a strong resolution condemning Al Qaeda.

Lurch does veer into some truth here, though. President Junior's administration has been anything but conservative. He's right about that, but not in the way he implies. Additionally, Lurch rolls out the tired old blather about how Iraq is diverting us from the war on terror - when in reality, the war in Iraq is part of the war on terror. This, of course, is too complicated for most liberals to comprehend. There's more:

To douse the spread of terrorism, Kerry proposes policies aimed at denying individuals and groups the ability to organize and attack.

What he means is that groups like the CIA, FBI and Homeland Security will be denied the opportunity to organize - just as they've been denied that opportunity for years now.

Kerry would build a better military and intelligence apparatus to go after enemies, deny terrorists weapons and financing, move against worldwide terrorist havens and recruitment centers, and promote freedom and democracy in Muslim nations.

Build a better military? Just like he has by voting against every important weapons system and military bill since the 1980s? Promote freedom and democracy in muslim nations? Like President Bush is already doing in Iraq? Hilarious!

Kerry has repeatedly argued that the war in Iraq has distracted attention and resources from the pursuit of terrorists, including Osama bin Laden.

Meanwhile, terrorists from all over the middle east are streaming into Iraq, making themselves available as targets for our military - you'd think this might help us in the war on terror. Not by Lurch's ill-logic.

I know Lurch & John Boy didn't start out intending to be a two-man comedy troupe, but that's certainly what they've become.

Time out for wrestling

And Lance Russell rings the bell... 10 minutes gone, 20 minutes to wrestle... the rank smell of the Memphis Mid-South Coliseum... the good old days...

Legendary wrestling manager and Hollywood writer/actor Scott Bowden's Kentucky Fried Rasslin column this week analyzes a new course at Penn State called "The Professional Wrestling Industry: The Business and Spectacle of Populist Sports-Entertainment." More:

Pin State: According to a recent course catalog, Penn State is offering a course on The Professional Wrestling Industry: The Business and Spectacle of Populist Sports- Entertainment. The catalog describes the class as: "An examination of the history and current popularity of professional wrestling. We will examine the major companies, the behind the scenes workings of the business, the relationship between the Internet and the current "boom" in the business (Bowden: that should be interesting), and important issues that surround the business. One need not be a "fan" (Bowden: i.e., "mark") of the pro-wrestling industry to study it. Students will have a chance to meet guest speakers from the pro-wrestling industry (Bowden: Who...Johnny Valiant?) as well as attend some live events. Required texts: A three-month subscription to one of the industry newsletters (we'll do this on the first day of class), access to cable TV (to watch 2 hrs. per week of pro wrestling) and willingness to make extensive use of the Internet. No wrestling required."

It's a good thing they included that last disclaimer. In fact, after the controversial first semester in which the class was offered, more disclaimers were added: 1. Foreign objects are strictly prohibited. 2. Further, you cannot carve your initials onto your desk or onto anyone else's forehead. 3. Hitting your instructor with a folding metal chair will result in an automatic failing grade. 4. The final exam will take place within the confines of a steel cage.

The title of the course reflects what I'm sure is the department's disdain for "Joe Six Pack" and "Johnny Lunch Pail" - whenever you hear the word populist, you know you're about to be condescended to. In this case it may be completely warranted.

I wish they had this at my institution of lower learning when I was in school because I wouldn't have skipped a class, lest I miss an essay on the lineage and character development from Gorgeous George to the Exotic Adrian Street.

Having known Bowden for some years, and having worked with him in a community-outreach program in Memphis called the "Cougars," I can attest that he is a man of unimpeachable character and even if you're not a rasslin' fan, you would do yourself a favor by reading Bowden's column every week.

Cheney tells Kerry to go F--- himself

Well, not really, but that would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Cheney did, however, come out today and attack Kerry for his lack of respect for visiting Iraqi interim leader Iyad Allawi.

Speaking in Columbus, Ohio, shortly after Allawi's speech, Kerry said the interim Iraqi premier was painting an unrealistically upbeat picture of the situation in his homeland.

Kerry's comments drew a sharp rebuke from the vice president just 40 days before Americans go to the polls on November 2 to cast their presidential ballots.

"I must say I was appalled at the complete lack of respect Senator Kerry showed for this man of courage when he rushed to hold a press conference and attack the prime minister, a man America must stand beside to defeat the terrorists," Cheney told an audience in St. Joseph, Missouri.

"John Kerry is trying to tear down all the good that has been accomplished, and his words are destructive to our effort in Iraq and in the global war on terror.

"As Prime Minister Allawi said in his speech, and I quote, 'When political leaders sound the siren of defeatism in the face of terrorism, it only encourages more violence,'" Cheney added.

At least Kerry is being consistent - all he ever preaches is defeatism and negativism. His outlook for the country is so incredibly bleak that you wonder how the bastard gets up in the morning. Oh yeah, he's a billionaire.

Back to Allawi, the left continues to discredit Allawi by calling him a "puppet" and a Bush stooge. To be perfectly frank, I hope he is. The Iraqi government should be following our lead on most issues, and not the other way around. It's nice to have elections, and it's nice to tout democracy, but democracy will not flourish until the hammer comes down on the islamofascists controlling pockets of the country. And until there is stability, Allawi should lead, with some strong guidance from Iraq's liberators.

9/24 UPDATE:

Chad from In the Bullpen has an excellent post regarding Kerry's decision to skip Allawi's speech to congress yesterday (much like he skipped the vast majority of intelligence committee meetings during his continuing nightmarish tenure as Senator).

Following Allawi’s address, Both Allawi and President Bush held a press conference outside the White House where they gave the media in attention better news than has been reported. Among revelations that came out that I was not aware of is that 15 of 18 provinces inside Iraq are considered safe and ready to proceed with elections. 50,000 Iraqi troops have been trained and another 50,000 will be fully trained by January.

It would stand to reason that it’s better to get information on the country from the mouth of the Prime Minister of Iraq, however not to John Kerry. While the majority of congress was in this joint meeting, Senator John Kerry was in a firehouse in Columbus, Ohio ready to try to trump Allawi’s comments with this week’s stance on Iraq...

There is not one mention of any border in Allawi’s address. The bulk of the address is Allawi thanking the United States for our sacrifice and explaining why he feels this effort is both worth it and has made the nation more safe.

In several of Kerry’s ill-advised stumps, he has scripted the comments well in advance and this is no exception. Of course one would have hoped he would have scripted his comments regarding “Lambert” Field where the Green Bay Packers play. Instead of practicing and writing his stump speech to counter Allawi’s comments, Senator John Kerry should have been at the joint session of Congress. Kerry is still an elected official in the United States Senate, though his attendence record is more than appalling.

Religion of beheadings

Is this the best islam has to offer? More beheadings? How are so many of these hood-wearing islamofascists still living in the year 750 A.D.? What kind of sub-human gutter-dwelling shit-scum could behead any of these people - who came to Iraq to either rebuild the infrastructure - or, in the case of the two Italian women, work with charitable organizations helping Iraqi kids?

This type of homocidal dementia is so foreign to civilized society that it's nearly impossible to comprehend.

As fully expected, the Jack Hensley beheading video has been released, and Rusty Shackleford has it. Again, make sure you have the stomach for such things. I'm sure plenty of people think it's morbid to link to such horrific video - but I agree with Rusty - these videos need to be seen by the ignorant unwashed masses in this country who are still in denial about the EVIL we're up against. And make no mistake, this is EVIL incarnate. I realize that most of you liberals can't understand that, but try really hard and maybe you'll get it eventually.

Reports are out now that suggest Simona Pari and Simona Torretta were beheaded and that a video will be forthcoming. If this comes to pass, it will be a new low, even for this pile islamofascist human debris.

Don't you think it's long past time to take the politically-correct gloves off, Mr. President?

How not to discipline a child

15-year-old found chained to bed railing at home in Lebanon (TN).

Lebanon police officers found a malnourished 15-year-old boy chained to a bed railing at his parents' home Tuesday, police officials said.

The boy's father, James Osborne III, and his stepmother, Christie Osborne, were charged with aggravated child abuse and neglect and were in jail as of yesterday afternoon, Lebanon Police Chief Scott Bowen said.

The teen "was in a very poor condition," Bowen said. James Osborne "said it's been going on for several months. He knew it was wrong."

Bowen said the father gave a statement that "he'd head for work in the morning and the boy would be chained, and he'd come back home from work and the boy would be chained. The mother said he (the boy) was a troublemaker."

Bowen said the teenager has been forced to sleep on a mat on a hardwood floor or directly on the floor surface.

He usually was naked or wore a diaper, he said.

Turner said that based on the preliminary investigation, the boy was fed only soup and water.

Two allegations of minor physical abuse were made against the family in 2001 and 2003, Turner said. DCS case managers visited the family both times and found no evidence to support those allegations, she said.

I realize that some people may call me "mean-spirited", but I hope both parents in this case spend the rest of their lives in prison - and spend a majority of that time being abused by fellow inmates.

Religion of Peace murders two Italian women

Purveyors of the Religion of Peace™ today killed two Italian women they had been holding hostage for weeks. These two had committed the crimes of (1) being Italian and (2) coming to Iraq to work on projects benefitting Iraqi children.

There is no hell hot enough for these bastards.

The trouble with journalists

For those of you who haven't been following the Rathergate story too closely (that includes me), here is an excellent piece on CBS producer Mary Mapes. She was the intermediary between the DNC's Joe Lockhart and professional Texas curmudgeon Bill Burkett - Allah has a good post on this connection.

The AP article has a quote about Mapes that demonstrates the problem with the state of so-called objective journalism in this country:

"She definitely was someone who was motivated by what she cared about and definitely went into journalism to make a difference," Carlson said. "She's not the sort of person who went into journalism to report the news and offer an array of commentary."

This, unfortunately, is often the primary motivation with journalism students. They want to make a difference. Translated, that means they want to bring to the profession their myopic world view and hatred for the "establishment" and bring down as many rich, white, heterosexual, male conservatives as possible.

This study by the Media Research Center demonstrates that this is not merely anecdotal evidence. The fact that 9 out of 10 journalists admitted to voting for Clinton in 1992 is just one example of how leftist ideology runs through the journalism world like a fast-spreading cancer.

Mapes is a shining example of the media elites' tendency to allow their ideology to infect the way they create, report and slant the news in the favor of whichever cause-of-the-week-obsession they're pushing. Sometimes the bias isn't in what is said or written, but in what stories the news broadcast or newspaper covers and which stories get the highest profile and most atttention.

In a USA Today story, Burkett said he agreed to turn documents impugning Bush's service - widely considered now to be fake - over to CBS on the condition CBS would help arrange a conversation with the Kerry campaign. Burkett's lawyer, Gabe Quintanilla, said he could not immediately confirm that Tuesday.

CBS acknowledged Mapes passed on Burkett's number to Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart, and Lockhart called him. Spokeswoman Kelli Edwards said CBS wasn't aware that this was part of any deal, but it's one of the things that will be examined by an independent commission CBS will soon appoint to look into the incident.

In Mapes case, she has a history of manufacturing the news and acting as go-between in an effort to create stories. Via Fox:

It is also not the first time that Mapes has agreed to be a go-between in a controversial setting. FOX News has obtained a letter written to Mapes by the warden of a high security federal prison in Colorado.

He accused the CBS producer of concocting a scheme to help secretly pass information between convicted white supremacist Peter Langan (search) and another federal prisoner, a violation of federal regulations.

"Phone monitoring reveals that you agreed to this request," the letter reads. "Your attempted misuse of the special mail privileges placed members of the public at risk."

I'm certain none of this is unique to CBS.

Still, it's a lapse in journalistic ethics if true, said Marvin Kalb, senior fellow at Harvard University's Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy.

"Journalists do all kinds of odd things these days to get a news story," Kalb said, "but one of the things they should not be doing is paying the price of a political contact."

Well, who's going to put them in journalist jail? The press police?

The funniest part of the whole Mapes affair has to be this quote:

"It is obviously against CBS News standards and those of every other reputable news organization to be associated with any political agenda," (CBS Spokes-sheep Kelli) Edwards said.

I guess Kelli Edwards hasn't watched the news in 30 or 40 years.

Wictory Wednesday

This little brownshirt spent his Wictory Wednesday slaving away for the man. So much so, that I didn't even get to take a peek at the blogosphere until this evening. I feel so deprived. But, enough bellyachin', cuz it's Wictory Wednesday.

This Wednesday - we're asking for help for Mel Martinez in his Florida Senate race. Mel has a very interesting background - he escaped Cuba as a child and has worked his way up to serving as HUD secretary under George W. Bush. He's lucky Janet Reno wasn't A.G. when he came to the U.S. or he would have been exported back to Cuba at gunpoint. You can show your disdain for Reno and her ilk by donating to Mel's campaign and push him over the top in Florida against wealth-redistribution specialist Dim-O-Crat Betty Castor.

Here are your Wictory Wednesday bloggers...

Democrats are cowards, installment number two

(via Jeff Quinton)

Decorated U.S. soldier attacked at Toby Keith concert.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A local soldier back from the war in Iraq said he was beaten at an area concert because of what was printed on his T-shirt, NBC 4's Nancy Burton reported.

Foster Barton, 19, of Grove City, received a Purple Heart for his military service in Iraq. He almost lost his leg last month after a Humvee he was riding in ran over a landmine.

Barton said he was injured again Friday night in a crowded parking lot as he was leaving the Toby Keith concert at Germain Amphitheatre. The solider was injured so badly that he can't go back to Iraq as scheduled.

"I don't remember getting hit at all, really," said Barton, a member of the 1st Calvary Division. "He hit me in the back of the head. I fell and hit the ground. I was knocked unconscious and he continued to punch and kick me on the ground."

Barton and his family said he was beat up because he was wearing an Iraqi freedom T-shirt.

Apparently, this brave attacker turned and ran into the crowd and managed to slither away. It's just like a liberal to take a cheap shot from behind, then run away. Perhaps it was the same brave union thug who tore up a 3-year-old's sign? Same mentality, that much is certain.

Foster Barton was scheduled to return to Iraq, but will now be delayed due to the injuries suffered in the attack. Foster's mother had a pretty good response for the attacker:

Barton's mother said she has a message for her son's alleged attacker, who police said ran into the crowd after the incident and was not arrested.

"He needs our prayers, just like the insurgents, because he's a coward," Cindy Barton said.

Well, that analogy is a bit off base - because what the insurgents need is to be annihilated - but the sentiments are accurate - this assailant is a coward that would never try to take on a soldier like Barton head-on. Hopefully someone will turn him in or at least give him a good ass-kicking.

UPDATE:

In the Bullpen has a more rational, less belligerent take on the issue:

People need to learn to put political and ideological differences aside, on both sides of the fence, and just be Americans. Be proud of our country. Be proud of our soldiers that defend our freedoms.

Well put.

In Search of Utopia and The Politicker have also thrown their hats in the ring.

Beheadings continue

(via Rusty Shackleford)

Fox News and the Associated Press are both reporting that American hostage Jack Hensley has been murdered.

News is still fresh and more is expected to come out shortly and I'm sure there will be photos and/or video. More updates to come.

3:55PM UPDATE:

Diggers Realm asks "where is the muslim outrage over these beheadings?" I'd like to know as well.

"We must have separation of church and state! Unless we need the black vote!"

Michael Reagan recently penned an excellent editorial about how the left preaches (pun intended) the separation of church and state every chance they get - yet, during an election year, they use the pulpit as their personal squawk box like nobody's business.

In New York, former President Bill Clinton took time out from the European leg of his book tour to come back to address the congregation at the ultra-liberal Riverside Memorial Church, where he dissected President Bush's faith.

"I believe President Bush is a good Christian," he said. "I believe that his faith in Jesus gave him new purpose and direction to his life but that doesn't mean that he doesn't see through a glass darkly. It doesn't mean that you can have a bunch of people acting on your behalf and pretending that you don't know them. To say that the seven people who were on John Kerry's Swift Boat don't know what they're talking about when they say he deserves the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and three Purple Hearts."

That is false. President Bush never said that about John Kerry. If anything the president has praised Kerry and the medals he received. On a number of occasions he has said that John Kerry served with honor and praised his service to his country in Vietnam.

It reminds me of when Al Gore bounced from black church to black church during the 2000 election, imitating every street preacher he'd seen in the movies, but still coming off like a maniacal sci-fi robot with fried circuitry.

It gets worse. While that was going on in New York, the Rev. Al Sharpton and Democrat National Chairman Terry McAuliffe were desecrating the pulpit at Miami's New Birth Baptist Church.

The Rev. Sharpton got the congregation revved up by resurrecting the Democrat's favorite slander that the 2000 election was stolen by the Bush campaign – a charge proven false by a long investigation by a consortium of the nation's top newspapers, most of them near-house organs of the Democrat party.

"We're not people who are going to be beat twice," he stormed.

Not to be outdone in politicizing the pulpit, McAuliffe told the worshippers: "Bush has misled us for four years and will not mislead us for the next four years. Get out to vote and we'll send Bush back to Texas."

This is the Democrats' idea of separation of church and state. This is the Democrats' idea of how to worship God on Sunday. Lie your teeth out.

I've often wondered why the leaders in these black churches allow these charlatans to come into their houses of worship and condescend to their congregations, spoon-feeding them the same failed liberalism they've been spewing since LBJ.

In contrast, at my church on Sunday, we did what worshippers are supposed to do. We prayed. We prayed for the suffering people in the Sudan, for our Christian brothers and sisters being butchered by Muslim fanatics in that stricken country. We prayed that we and the rest of the world will be free from terrorist attacks.

There wasn’t a word about politics. And not a single lie was told.

So, while the left uses the pulpit any way they see fit - pushing their agenda down the throats of the unwashed masses along with their Communion, other conservative-leaning churches are being infiltrated by federal and local snoops, hanging on every word - just waiting to take away the church's tax-exempt status in the name of federal election law.

A plan to monitor the political activism of Wichita's conservative churches began this weekend with two people reviewing a morning worship service at the city's largest congregation.

Rose Rosenwach and Susan Kadison of Mainstream Coalition/The Interfaith Alliance Wichita were the group's first "assessment team" to conduct a review, visiting a morning service at Central Christian Church, 2900 N. Rock Road. They are watching for infractions of a law that bans tax-exempt churches from endorsing political candidates.

Rosenwach and Kadison sat, stood and applauded with the congregation, citing a need to blend in. They also took notes and listened intently to speakers during the 90-minute service.

This organization, which the article referred to as "non-partisan", is like a group of 6-year-old tattletales, ready to run to the government with tales of how churches are engaging in hate speech and political partisanism because they don't agree with the group's agenda. Did I mention they're non-partisan?

The group tends to support issues such as gay rights and objects to overt attempts by any religious group to convert someone to another faith.

Among the group's complaints is the way dozens of conservative churches in Wichita lobbied state officials earlier this year to ban gay marriages in the Kansas Constitution.

In this election season, they think some churches have lent support to candidates opposing gay marriage in ways that raise ethical and legal questions.

When you hear the press use the term "non-partisan", you can bet your ass it's a leftist group. The media is quick to label any middle-of-the-road or conservative group as "right-wing".

Pay close attention this year as you'll hear of leftist politicians getting a free pass as they blather on at leftist churches all over the country - meanwhile, the federal snoops and spies may very well be sitting next to you at your own church - especially if (God forbid) your church doesn't tow the government-approved line of liberal Christian orthodoxy.

Another beheading

American hostage Eugene Armstrong beheaded by islamofascists.

Once again, an infidel Westerner, who came to help rebuild Iraq's infrastructure, has been murdered in the name of the islamofascists' "god". In the world of radical islam, no good deed ever goes unpunished.

Rusty Shackleford has images and a link to the video depicting the beheading - watch at your own risk - the images and video are horrific and should be considered very seriously before viewing.

Blogs of War has a Reuters translation of what these miserable sub-human fucks said before executing Armstrong:

Reuters translates part of the statement read before the murder: “Oh, you Christian dog Bush, stop your arrogance … the mujahideen will give America a taste of the degradation you have inflicted on the Iraqi people,” (This message for Christian Dogs is brought to you by the Religion of Peace™)

After viewing the pics (I can't stomach the video), I have realized how desensitized I've become to the news of beheadings and mass murder coming out of Iraq. The shock and disgust from the Nick Berg & Paul Johnson videos dissipated after a while and I'm ashamed to admit that I've become numb to the realities on the ground in Iraq.

This human debris suffers from the same mental illness that enabled a handful of Saudis to kill more than 3,000 Americans in one day in 2001. This is the same insanity that enabled the rape, torture and murder of children in Russia just a few short weeks ago. This is the enemy we face - they would behead us all if given the opportunity. This is the death cult of radical islam that Kerry & Edwards say are no threat to us. Fine, go watch these beheadings, go watch what they did in the Beslan school and then continue your deranged apologist vomit.

Right on Red points out something that should be seen as an opportunity rather than a problem:

Concerning the influx of foreign terrorists into Iraq, the Iraqi PM says:

Terrorists are coming and pouring in from various countries into Iraq to try and undermine the situation in Iraq. They’re coming from Afghanistan, Pakistan, from Europe, from Morocco, from Syria and so on.

Iraq is on the front line of fighting these terrorists. And, God forbid, if Iraq is broken or the will of Iraq is broken, then London would be a target, Washington will be a target, Paris will be a target, Cairo will be a target, as we have seen in the past.

Which is exactly why Iraq was the right war in the right place at the right time, and why we cannot retreat.

With scores of islamofascists pouring in from all across the middle-east, we have a golden opportunity. We have the perfect trap already set, and they're taking the bait, just like the homicidally demented mental midgets that they are - the more of them that pour into Iraq, the more we should be able to annihilate en masse. However, if President Bush continues to fight a politically-correct half-war, we will squander this opportunity, setting ourselves up for failure, and putting our fighting men and women needlessly at risk.

If they hole up in a mosque - destroy it. If they take over a "holy city" - destroy it. Failure to take advantage of this opportunity will result in more bloodbaths in American cities and elsewhere. These beheadings are merely a taste.

Pep talk!

Don't feel down, moonbats. Your bloated hero has come to give you a pep talk! You guessed it, Michael Moore, the feces-encrusted fraudulent film-maker has put down his bucket of fried chicken long enough to attempt to rally the troops!

Via "Mike's Message":

Enough of the handwringing! Enough of the doomsaying! Do I have to come there and personally calm you down? Stop with all the defeatism, OK?

Shit! He's gonna come down here?!? Where we little non-millionaire working-people-types are? That is frightening.

Bush IS a goner -- IF we all just quit our whining and bellyaching and stop shaking like a bunch of nervous ninnies. Geez, this is embarrassing! The Republicans are laughing at us. Do you ever see them cry, "Oh, it's all over! We are finished! Bush can't win! Waaaaaa!"

Hell no. It's never over for them until the last ballot is shredded. They are never finished -- they just keeping moving forward like sharks that never sleep, always pushing, pulling, kicking, blocking, lying.

Yep, that's all those nasty Republicans do is lie. Good catch there, Captain Corpulent. The Dim-O-Cracks never lie and are pure as the new-fallen snow.

They are relentless and that is why we secretly admire them -- they just simply never, ever give up. Only 30% of the country calls itself "Republican," yet the Republicans own it all -- the White House, both houses of Congress, the Supreme Court and the majority of the governorships. How do you think they've been able to pull that off considering they are a minority? It's because they eat you and me and every other liberal for breakfast and then spend the rest of the day wreaking havoc on the planet.

Well, only 30% of the country calls itself Republican, but the majority of the country (myself included) consider ourselves independent conservatives. Most of us are pragmatic enough to put aside our ideology and vote against whichever pants-shitting socialist the Dim-O-Cracks put up every four years. Personally, I'm a little bit offended when I'm referred to as a Republican, because all the national Republican party has become is socialist-lite. But I digress, back to Moore's call to arms!

Look at us -- what a bunch of crybabies. Bush gets a bounce after his convention and you would have thought the Germans had run through Poland again. The Bushies are coming, the Bushies are coming! Yes, they caught Kerry asleep on the Swift Boat thing. Yes, they found the frequency in Dan Rather and ran with it. Suddenly it's like, "THE END IS NEAR! THE SKY IS FALLING!"

No, it is not. If I hear one more person tell me how lousy a candidate Kerry is and how he can't win... Dammit, of COURSE he's a lousy candidate -- he's a Democrat, for heavens sake! That party is so pathetic, they even lose the elections they win! What were you expecting, Bruce Springsteen heading up the ticket? Bruce would make a helluva president, but guys like him don't run -- and neither do you or I. People like Kerry run.

Now there's where we agree. Lurch is a horrible candidate - and the fact that the Dim-O-Crat power structure made him the nominee unarguably demonstrates that they want a Bush victory to set the table for a Hitlery Clinton candidacy in 2008. It's pretty obvious. Otherwise, they'd have nominated an actual contender instead of a lying cartoon character.

My friends, it is time for a reality check.

1. The polls are wrong. They are all over the map like diarrhea. On Friday, one poll had Bush 13 points ahead -- and another poll had them both tied...

Agreed - I'm not paying attention to the polls either. The only poll I'm interested in is the one that comes out on election night after all the polls are closed.

2. Kerry has brought in the Clinton A-team. Instead of shunning Clinton (as Gore did), Kerry has decided to not make that mistake.

But they had a smooth-talking rapist-candidate they could count on to deliver the message.

3. Traveling around the country, as I've been doing, I gotta tell ya, there is a hell of a lot of unrest out there. Much of it is not being captured by the mainstream press. But it is simmering and it is real. Do not let those well-produced Bush rallies of angry white people scare you. Turn off the TV! (Except Jon Stewart and Bill Moyers -- everything else is just a sugar-coated lie).

Don't listen to angry rich white people. Especially gargantuan ones like Michael Moore.

4. Conventional wisdom says if the election is decided on "9/11" (the fear of terrorism), Bush wins. But if it is decided on the job we are doing in Iraq, then Bush loses. And folks, that "job," you might have noticed, has descended into the third level of a hell we used to call Vietnam. There is no way out. It is a full-blown mess of a quagmire and the body bags will sadly only mount higher. Regardless of what Kerry meant by his original war vote, he ain't the one who sent those kids to their deaths -- and Mr. and Mrs. Middle America knows it. Had Bush bothered to show up when he was in the "service" he might have somewhat of a clue as to how to recognize an immoral war that cannot be "won." All he has delivered to Iraq was that plasticized turkey last Thanksgiving. It is this failure of monumental proportions that is going to cook his goose come this November.

It's comical how quick the left is to discount the threat of terrorism. Even John Boy mentioned how the threat of terrorism has been exaggerated to generate fear to sway voters. They live in a state of denial - even after 9/11 brought the reality of the threat home, they continue to deny that the threat is real. Lurch voted for the war - so yes, Large One, he did send the troops over to Iraq - he simply tried to take away their weapons once they got there.

So, do not despair. All is not over. Far from it. The Bush people need you to believe that it is over. They need you to slump back into your easy chair and feel that sick pain in your gut as you contemplate another four years of George W. Bush. They need you to wish we had a candidate who didn't windsurf and who was just as smart as we were when WE knew Bush was lying about WMD and Saddam planning 9/11. It's like Karl Rove is hypnotizing you -- "Kerry voted for the war...Kerry voted for the war...Kerrrrrryyy vooootted fooooor theeee warrrrrrrrrr..."

Yes...Yes...Yesssss....He did! HE DID! No sense in fighting now...what I need is sleep...sleeep...sleeeeeeppppp...

WAKE UP! The majority are with us! More than half of all Americans are pro-choice, want stronger environmental laws, are appalled that assault weapons are back on the street -- and 54% now believe the war is wrong. YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO CONVINCE THEM OF ANY OF THIS -- YOU JUST HAVE TO GIVE THEM A RAY OF HOPE AND A RIDE TO THE POLLS. CAN YOU DO THAT? WILL YOU DO THAT?

Just for me, please? Buck up. The country is almost back in our hands. Not another negative word until Nov. 3rd! Then you can bitch all you want about how you wish Kerry was still that long-haired kid who once had the courage to stand up for something. Personally, I think that kid is still inside him. Instead of the wailing and gnashing of your teeth, why not hold out a hand to him and help the inner soldier/protester come out and defeat the forces of evil we now so desperately face. Do we have any other choice?

Why yes, dimwitted sheep, you do have another choice - the right choice - Bush/Cheney.

Blogrolling fixed?

As you've probably noticed since Thursday, my blogrolls have been up, then down, then up, etc. The folks at Blogrolling migrated servers on Thursday, which caused much chaos.

Thankfully, I just received an email from their support letting me know that everything should be functioning correctly again. Looking at my blogrolls, you can finally see which blogs are updated recently, which I rely on more than I realized. Many folks have been yapping about this throughout the weekend. Hopefully this is the end of Blogrollgate and we can get back to memogate or whatever gate is in the news this week.

Football follies

Well it was another ugly week of football picks. I didn't do so badly in the college games - going 4/5 - missing on the Ohio St./NC St. game. Bad news for Nathan's Tide, with the loss of Brody Croyle for the season.

The mighty Vols, however, pulled it out in the last second - what a story of sports-related redemption! Wilhoit misses an extra point, leaving the score 28-27 Gators with 3 minutes left. The Vol defense gave Wilhoit another chance by stopping Florida and forcing a punt. Freshman QB Eric Ainge got the Vols down to the 33 yard line, setting up a 50-yard field goal to win it and Wilhoit splits the uprights. From goat to hero in no time flat. What a sweet win - and even sweeter because it happened to the Gators.

I couldn't have done worse in the pros. I went 0/4, and I'm now confident that Minnesota will win tonight's game at Philadelphia. That will leave me an abysmal 0/5 on the weekend. I am ashamed of my picks and of my Titans' poor performance against the Colts.

In other NFL news, Mrs. Holmes astutely pointed out that every team had a 40 decal on their helmets and asked me what that might mean. As I suspected, according to NFL.Com, it was a weekend-long tribute to former Arizona Cardinal Pat Tillman, who was killed in action in Afghanistan earlier this year. There was a tribute to Tillman at this weekend's Cardinals/Patriots game - including video messages from President Bush & John McCain.

You may remember how Marxist cartoonist Ted Rall thought Tillman's death was amusing.

Pot, meet kettle

This weekend, John Boy Edwards, took a break from channeling the spirits of deceased infants, and gave another rousing campaign speech near Philadelphia.

John Boy is plum ticked off that Speaker of the House Denny Hastert made the following observation:

"I don't have data or intelligence to tell me one thing or another, [but] I would think they would be more apt to go [for] somebody who would file a lawsuit with the World Court or something rather than respond with troops," Hastert said of Kerry.

Asked by reporters whether he believes al Qaeda could operate better with Kerry in the White House, Hastert replied: "That's my opinion, yes."

"Instead of attacking Republicans, John Edwards should help John Kerry explain to the American people his inconsistent and contradictory positions on national security, intelligence and other defense issues," Hastert spokesman John McGovern said Sunday.

John Boy is offended that Hastert has the nerve to point out the obvious - Al Qaeda will be much better off if Lurch wins the election. Their philosophy is the same as that of their fellow travelers in the U.S. - anybody but Bush. He got so gosh-darned riled up that he responded with a press release accusing Hastert of being dang un-american.

One clear sign of weakness and failed leadership is when a politician stoops to the politics of fear. In the last twenty- four hours Dennis Hastert, the Speaker of the House, has joined the fear mongering choir. Last night, he said something to the effect that Al Qaeda wants John Kerry to be President of the United States. Let me say this in the simplest possible terms: when John Kerry is President of the United States, we will find Al Qaeda where they are and crush them before they can do damage to the American people.

Yeah, I believe that. When I think national security, the word Democrat is the last one that comes to mind.

So while John Boy was hollerin' about "fear mongering," what was Lurch's sister doing? Why, drumming up some fear mongering of her own in Australia!

John Kerry's campaign has warned Australians that the Howard Government's support for the US in Iraq has made them a bigger target for international terrorists.

Diana Kerry, younger sister of the Democrat presidential candidate, told The Weekend Australian that the Bali bombing and the recent attack on the Australian embassy in Jakarta clearly showed the danger to Australians had increased.

"Australia has kept faith with the US and we are endangering the Australians now by this wanton disregard for international law and multilateral channels," she said, referring to the invasion of Iraq.

Asked if she believed the terrorist threat to Australians was now greater because of the support for Republican George W. Bush, Ms Kerry said: "The most recent attack was on the Australian embassy in Jakarta -- I would have to say that."

So let me help you with leftist hypocrisy definition example #4179B:

  • Republican Fear Mongering = BAD
  • Dim-O-Crack Fear Mongering = GOOD

Citizens United has put together a film documenting the lies, distortions and other bilge that Michael Moore, Al Gore, Lurch & John Boy and the rest of the anti-war left have been putting out for the last few years. You should go view the trailer here.

WARNING: The trailer does briefly show footage from some of Saddam's torture videos, so if you've got a weak stomach, it may not be for you. It's footage of actual torture - not the Abu Ghraib panties-on-the-head-style group sex torture.

Monday morning roundup

It was a slow weekend for blogging, but plenty is going on, as you probably already know.

First, CBS is now admitting that "they were mislead" on the National Guard memos.

Mr. Rather interviewed Mr. Burkett on camera this weekend, and several people close to the reporting process said his answers to Mr. Rather's questions led officials to conclude that their initial confidence that the memos had come from Mr. Killian's own files was not warranted. These people indicated that Mr. Burkett had previously led the producer of the piece, Mary Mapes, to have the utmost confidence in the material.

It was unclear last night if Mr. Burkett had told Mr. Rather that he had been misled about the documents' provenance or that he had been the one who did the misleading.

And it doesn't really matter to CBS anyway, does it? They were able to get their story out - in fact, they were able to get TWO full stories out on 60 Minutes that were based entirely on false information and forged documentation. What is most disappointing about this whole affair is that - not only did Rather & Co. pull a broadcasting hoax, I'm confident that there will be no real repercussions for Rather or CBS.

They will come out with some statement containing a pseudo-admission of guilt, then they'll move on, concocting the next campaign flim-flam - one with less loose ends, I would imagine - in support of their chosen saviors, Lurch & John Boy. No matter what else comes out, or how much bloggers and alternative news outlets try to hold CBS' feet to the fire, nothing will come of this. I'll still be listening to contrived drunken colloquialisms from Dan Rather on election night in November, and to quote Jocelyn Elders, "that bothers me."

In other news, is anyone else offended by Madonna's pilgrimage to Israel this past week? Surely no one with one eye and a lick of sense buys this bullshit. It's disappointing that Israeli officials were so quick to lick her boots on this trip, but as the article points out, they need tourist dollars in a desperate way.

Israel hopes the star - the biggest pop celebrity to visit in years - will revive tourism battered by four years of violence, and government officials were on hand at a Tel Aviv hotel to share the spotlight, the glory and the photographs.

She made it clear, however, that she's only there to find out what Israel keeps doing to make people hate the Jews with such a passion.

Speaking without notes, Madonna said the people she met during her five-day Holy Land trip "have one thing in common - we want to create peace in the world."

"We want to put an end to chaos and suffering," she said, "but most of all we want to put an end to hatred with no reason."

The singer said she was not representing a religion. Rather, she said, "I'm here as a student of kabbala. A kabbalist sees the world as a unified whole. A kabbalist asks why."

Thank God Esther is here! Or whatever the hell her name is this month. This self-absorbed hag learned well from her hero Bill Clinton, however, imitating his performance at the Ron Brown funeral:

Led by a rabbi, Madonna and her small entourage recited blessings over food and wine, drank from small plastic cups and circled the raised stone grave. Toward the end of the ceremony, Madonna wiped tears from her eyes.

I'm moved. In fact, so much so, that I'm heading for the toilet right now.

Fall has arrived

It is an absolutely beautiful day here in Knoxville. The sun reflects off of the lake nearby...

You can even see the mountains behind the lake through the powerlines behind a nearby neighborhood.

The temperature is in the upper 60s, and we're heading down to the Tennessee/Florida game tonight. It's the kind of day where you don't want to think about politics, current events, socialists, bedwetting union thugs, islamofascists, or any other ugly reality of life. Therefore, I ain't gonna.

Instead, I'm going to enjoy this fantastic early fall day, play with the kids, and get ready for the game by watching even more football. I figure I've earned some escapism. I don't know quite how, but what the hell.

And what game day preparation is complete without a trip to the package store...

Join me and put your worries aside for the day. Booze it up and go tackle a complete stranger in their front yard. They won't mind. It's football season.

5 PM UPDATE:

Well, not everyone here in Knoxville is in as good a mood as me. Johnny Walker Red points out that local leftist celebrity blogger South Knox Bubba became so emotionally overwrought recently that he filled his underpants with bile. Go read his angry post, it's a good example of the left's collective meltdown over the polls, memogate and all the other bad news we "fucking crazies" on the right are creating.

Weekend football picks

Against the advice of my team of lawyers, and Willie Blind-Lemon Jefferson, I'm going to throw my delicious football picks out there for the public to dine on. I realize I'll never compete with Smooth Jimmy Apollo, but hey, they're free.

First, the college picks. I'm feeling optimisting this week - Tennessee 27 Florida 17. The Vols will win because our QBs are too young and blissfully ignorant to cave in to the pressure. They'll only get worse as Philip Fulmer and Randy Sanders squander Ainge and Schaeffer's collective talent, so enjoy it this year, Big Orange Nation. Other picks: Georgia 41 Marshall 14; Auburn 24 LSU 18; NC State 21 Ohio State 17; and for Nathan, Alabama 78 Western Carolina 2.

Next, the NFL picks. The mighty Titans will squeak by the Colts, 24-22 only because they'll play outside on a soggy field - the Colts hate that. Lisa's Packers will throttle the Bears, 28-14, because the Bears still suck. Other scores: Kansas City 31 Carolina 20; Washington 23 NY Giants 14; Philly 31 Minnesota 24 in an excellent Monday night game.

I'm sure Willie Blind-Lemon Jefferson will let me know how much I suck early next week, and I look forward to it.

Have you seen me?

Chucky, the 1,000 pound gator, has been set free from the zoo by Hurricane Ivan. If you see him, please try to catch him and return him to Gulf Shores (AL) authorities.

More proof: Democrats are cowards

Three-year-old girl has Bush/Cheney sign ripped up by Kerry supporters in West Virginia.

I'm sure these big, bad, brain-dead union thugs thought they'd really done something impressive. Well, at least they picked on someone mentally their own size. Jackasses.

UPDATE 9/17 8:00 AM:

(via Drudge) More proof: Democrats can't debate the issues, most are belligerent drunk philandering miscreants. Long Island man arrested in air rage case after losing political debate with Republican woman. And what is worse to a drunk male dim-o-crack than losing a debate to a woman? A Republican woman at that!?!? I'm sure he was incredulous that any woman could support the Bush campaign, given the fact that they've taken the women's rights movement back to the 1950's.

Husar boarded Flight 849 in Minneapolis on his way from New York to visit some friends in Alaska, his wife, Linda, said yesterday. Officials said Husar, a supporter of Sen. John Kerry, was engaged in a discussion on the upcoming presidential election with a woman seated next to him - a President George W. Bush supporter - when she became turned off by his belligerent attitude and complained to the flight staff.

The woman also did not like that Husar would touch her leg and shoulder when he spoke to her, authorities said. Corona said Husar had "had a few drinks."

Russell Ridd, supervising senior crown attorney for the Manitoba Justice Department, said that when flight attendants approached Husar, he became enraged, deliberately spilling a container of alcohol and engaging in "the boisterous behavior of a drunk."

Ridd said the pilot deemed the situation "a minor emergency" and called for an abrupt landing. An armed marshal sat next to Husar until the plane reached a Winnipeg airport, where Husar was kicked off and promptly arrested.

And what do good liberals do in these situations (because we all know they're never responsible for their actions...)? Sue!

"He's mad as hell," said Husar's Canadian attorney, John Corona, adding that Husar plans to sue the airline.

Well, Bush/Cheney love in the form of campaign signs in my neighborhood, that is.

Just a day after we got tired of looking at all the Kerry/Edwards: A Weaker America yard signs and put up our own Bush/Cheney sign, 5 more have suddenly appeared on our street.

As of this week, there has been a 7-sign swing. Monday it was 4-0 in favor of Lurch/John Boy - as of this afternoon, it was 7-4 in favor of Bush/Cheney. I'm not a professional pollster, but I am stating unequivocally that this guarantees victory in November.

That being said, here's a little advice for President Junior's campaign: Don't make assertions claiming that Kerry is for big government when you've spent us out of house and home. U.N. - Bureaucrooks

Johnny Walker Red has a special message for Kofi Annon and the rest of the third-world tin-pot dictators at the United Nations.

Kofi Annan says the invasion of Iraq was illegal.

“I have indicated it was not in conformity with the UN charter from our point of view,'’ Annan said in an excerpt from the interview broadcast by the BBC. From the Charter’s point of view it was “illegal,'’ he said.

Take a look at the future, folks. Some corrupt, third-world beaurocrook will decide when and if your children will be defended from murderers. Got intel that says Generalissimo Crackpot has a 747 full of Sarin gas? Sorry, can’t do anything about it unless some milqetoast Marxist from the most miserable, blood-soaked continent on Earth says you can.

I’ve said it a hundred times at least: this is one of the men John Kerry will defer to in matters of national defense. Which is why Kofi is trying to sway US opinion against Bush a few weeks before the election.

Saddam tought us, however (and the Sudanese are teaching us still) that being in violation of UN rules is completely and utterly meaningless. There are no consequences.

So to the racists, Communists, and crooks of the UN, I’d like to quote our Vice-President: go fuck yourself.

I don't know if bureaucrooks is a JWR original, but it's new to me. Well put!

R.I.P. Johnny Ramone

After losing Joey a few years ago, news comes out this morning of the passing of Johnny Ramone - guitarist, co-founder and driving force behind the Ramones - after a five-year battle with prostate cancer.

Johnny Ramone, guitarist and co-founder of the seminal punk band "The Ramones" that influenced a generation of rockers, has died. He was 55.

Ramone, who had been fighting a five-year battle with prostate cancer, died in his sleep Wednesday afternoon at his Los Angeles home surrounded by friends and family, said the band's longtime artistic director Arturo Vega.

"He was the guy with a strategy. He was the guy who not only looked after the band's interest but he also was their defender," Vega said in a telephone interview from New York.

Ramone, whose birth name is John Cummings, had been hospitalized in June at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Johnny Ramone was one of the original members of the struggling Ramones, whose hit songs "I wanna be sedated" and "Blitzkrieg Bop," among others, earned them an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

Having grown up on the Ramones as a Sullen Teen™, and having had the honor of meeting Joey Ramone in the late 90's - who was very down-to-earth and personable, this is indeed sad news. Not so much because the Ramones were innovators and re-wrote rock and roll history, but because they were the real deal.

The Ramones were on the forefront of the backlash against 70's art rock and disco. They returned rock and roll to its roots by breaking it down to its very basics - three chords and pure energy. The combination of their non-stop energy and a desperation of the music-listening masses for anything but what was on mainstream radio at the time created a huge cult following and scores of imitators. You can still put on Subterranean Jungle or Rocket to Russia and the songs haven't lost their punch or become dated.

As an aside, in contrast with 98% of the music industry, Johnny was unashamedly conservative.

Johnny Ramone changed that by demanding more money for performances, but still kept a close watch on the band's budget; Vega recalled how Johnny Ramone would insist that the band drive nonstop between Boston and New York for shows instead of spending the night in a hotel.

In addition to his financial conservatism, the guitarist was politically conservative — the late Ronald Reagan (news - web sites) was Ramone's favorite president, Vega said.

Fans have remained loyal to the Ramones, and the Ramones over the years have been loyal to their fans. In 1979, while shooting scenes for the film "Rock 'n' Roll High School," the Ramones — ignoring the director's order — played a concert-length session for fans who had paid to be extras, Vega said.

"The Ramones never ever lost their image, their aura of being the ultimate underdog, the voice of the angry young man," Vega said.

God speed, Johnny.

Laura Inghram punches Bill O'Reilly's teeth loose

I just happened to be bouncing around from Fox to the Weather Channel to Fox, etc, and Laura Ingraham is on the O'Reilly Factor defending what the pompous pundit called "right wing" talk radio and the blogosphere.

O'Reilly, in his usual self-righteous tone, was incredulous that anyone - especially bloggers - would dare hold Dan Rather's feet to the fire over memogate. Laura took him to the woodshed. I wish I had been able to bring you more details, but I'm sure there will be a transcript to be found somewhere in short order.

Laura reminded Bill that it's right-thinking Americans who put him on his pedestal by watching Fox, buying his books and listening to his fairly horrible talk radio show - which seemed to humble him for a split second. He did quickly snap out of it, however. You should catch the late replay of O'Reilly and watch it.

Russia goes to Israel for help

Russian officials travel to Israel for help in designing improved anti-terrorism system.

HERZLIYA, Israel – While rejecting U.S. and EU criticism of its anti-terrorism reforms, Russia plans to adopt Israel's counter-insurgency methods in Moscow's war against Chechen rebels.

Russian officials said the government in Moscow has agreed to increase security cooperation with Israel and focus on counter-insurgency. The officials said the cooperation would include Israeli training and instruction on a range of issues, including aviation security and civil defense.

"We are being helped by your expertise in the field of aviation security," Vladimir Vasilyev, chairman of the Security Committee of Russia's parliament, told Israeli reporters.

...

Lavrov met Israeli leaders last week and signed an accord meant to pave the way for a joint effort against Islamic insurgency groups.

Vasilyev and other Russian officials said such cooperation was already taking place. They said teams from both countries were arranging meetings in an effort meant to learn the lessons of the Chechen takeover of a high school in North Ossetia in late August. Nearly 400 people were killed in the hostage episode.

"I want to express my support that you're giving us to solve security isues," Vasilyev told Israeli reporters at an international conference in Herzliya, which ended on Tuesday. "We will also continue cooperation in the field of protecting public places and will use Israel's experience. To be smarter and tougher, we will have to prepare our citizens."

Sounds like that's just the tip of the iceberg to new Israel/Russian cooperation. While some folks are justifiably concerned about Putin's recent rollback of democratic reforms - and I share these concerns, I have to speculate as to whether this means that Israel finally has another friend in the U.N. besides the U.S.

This move to enlist Israel's help signals that the Russians are deadly serious about taking on islamofascism, which, in my opinion is very good news. I am optimistic that this new alliance means that the Russians will no longer be on the side of Israel's enemies (that includes pretty much every nation in the U.N. with the exception of the United States) and will support Israel's right to defend itself, much as they finally see the need to defend themselves against the same global enemy.

The fact that I'm interpreting this as good news does not mean that I am not concerned about Putin's restructuring-related power grab. I still view the Russian government with great skepticism - Russia is essentially to the Soviet Union what Diet Coke is to Coca-Cola. That being said, I am pleased to see them taking real action in the global war on terror.

And what of Putin's recent pullback from democracy?

U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell, in an interview with Reuters, backed liberal criticism in Russia by saying the changes were "pulling back on some of the democratic reforms".

But Russia's foreign minister said Washington had no right to impose its model of democracy on others.

"First of all, the processes that are under way in Russia are our internal affair," Sergei Lavrov said.

"And it is at least strange that, while talking about a certain 'pulling back', as he (Powell) put it, on some of the democratic reforms in the Russian Federation, he tried to assert yet one more time the thought that democracy can only be copied from someone's model," Lavrov said.

W...w...w...w...Wictory Wednesday

It's Wictory Wednesday again, and we remind you, though you can't technically donate to the Bush campaign, you can still volunteer and berate likely voters with Anti-Kerry propaganda.

Or, you can do as we did, and go to your local Bush/Cheney/GOP HQ and get a yard sign and stick it in your yard and piss off your neighbors. I've been shocked and saddened to see how many Lurch/John Boy signs have gone up in our neighborhood.

After considering it, it makes sense. Our little subdivision is filled with yankee transplants and retirees. So in the case of the transplants, you've got dumbed down socialist yankee union types who are too conditioned to know any better - and in the case of the retirees, you've got octogenarians with their hands out to uncle sam, buying the "Republicans are going to steal your social security and medicare" garbage fed to them by the Old Media. I recommend that everyone display a Bush/Cheney yard sign - even if it's just to irritate old people and union thugs.

On a related note, Tom Daschle is on the ropes in North Dakota. You can help push him off the cliff and into the abyss by donating to his opponent John Thune's campaign. It would be a huge victory to get rid of Daschle's Senatorial obstructionism this fall so kick in a few bucks!

On a related campaign note, LaShawn Barber knocks one out of the park with this post this morning. She's quickly becoming a favorite.

Fantastical flying obstruction machine

Looks like the Senate is warming up their fantastical flying obstruction machine: Senate dim-o-cracks suggest nominee for CIA chief too partisan.

I really don't know what the dims are complaining about. We finally got rid of Tenet and his merry band of incompetent nincompoops. A potted plant would be an improvement as CIA director over Tenet.

But the top Democrat on the Senate panel, Senator Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, expressed concern about comments Mr. Goss has made praising President Bush and criticizing Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry.

"Congressman Goss, having reviewed your record closely, I have a number of concerns about whether your past partisan actions or statements will allow you to be the type of nonpartisan, independent and objective national intelligence advisor our country needs," he said.

The only reason that Goss has expressed support for President Bush is because he knows, if Kerry gets elected, there won't be a CIA this time next year. Our critical intelligence needs will be outsourced to Kofi Annon and his cavalcade of corruption.

Sweet justice

During a high-speed car chase in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Dana Bettin threw his girlfriend's baby out on the road from a moving car.

The baby was in a carseat and escaped serious injury.

Authorities said Dana Bettin, 23, was fleeing police in a stolen car that he had reportedly taken from the baby's mother.

Investigators said the two apparently had a fight when Bettin hopped in the car with the baby and sped off.

Bettin led police on a chase reaching speeds of about 100 mph, according to the report.

The best news from this whole incident:

"Bettin was then videotaped speeding off and crashing into a Brown County squad car.
He was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries and later died."

Good riddance, you piece of shit. I hope they didn't spend too much money trying to save you.

"Save Arab culture from itself"

That's the plea from Nonie Darwish, a concerned arab-american. (via FrontPageMag)

The world and its lazy media continue, like ostriches, to stick their heads in the sand, and even after 9/11, the U.N. and many in the West still find excuses for terrorism. The Arabs' best friends, the French, even thought they would get special treatment from terrorists by selling out the U.S. and supporting Saddam Hussein. But to the terrorists the French were just temporary friends until the right time came to strike. One enemy at a time.

Where are Muslim demonstrations against terror? All I noticed in the Arab world after 9/11 were celebrations. The very few courageous Arab writers who think and speak independently are often attacked and terrorized for their views, accused of being puppets of the Zionists. Apparently, standing strong against terrorism and for reformations in the Muslim world is viewed as a "Zionist" conspiracy no matter how heinous the murders carried out by militant Islamists.

Since 1967 there have been thousands of Arab terrorist attacks. There has been only one Israeli terrorist attack against Arabs, by a crazy man who was condemned by almost all Israeli citizens, and the Israeli government never tried the Arabs who beat the attacker to death after he surrendered. Yet I hear apologists for terrorism here cite that one incident as justification for the thousands of terrorist attacks against Israel and the U.S. over the years.

Even worse, how many resolutions by the U.N. Commission on Human Rights condemning an Arab country for human rights violations have ever been proposed or passed? The answer is zero. But the number of Human Rights Commission resolutions condemning Israel for human rights violations is 26. Imagine that.

Is there any doubt that the state-sponsored and culturally encouraged terrorism all over the Middle East perpetrated by the Arab states is not a violation of human rights? Could it be that the U.N. is contributing to the problem? When I saw the horror on the faces of the Russian children, I decided to take a stand against the Islamic culture of terror I grew up in and the madness resulting from its teachings. The intense and repetitive teaching of hate produces inhuman robots. Make no mistake about it: My motivation is out of love for the goodness that I know exists in the Muslim world and a fervent desire for this goodness to prevail.

"Where are Muslim demonstrations against terror? All I noticed in the Arab world after 9/11 were celebrations."

This is what I've been asking for quite some time now. Does this mean we'll start to hear more American muslims speaking out against terror? Or will they continue to hide behind their accomplices in the media, quietly celebrating each islamofascist assault on civilization?

The "Bush Doctrine" of either you're with us or with the terrorists should apply not only to foreign governments, but also to domestic groups like CAIR and individuals who financially support mosques and other organizations that may be supporting terrorism at home and abroad. The Bush administration has been far too selective - and far too inconsistent - in how it applies this doctrine.

Nonie's letter is well worth a full read, so go read it.

Lurch and John Boy show their desperation

I've been trying to ignore the fact that Lurch finally played the race card over the weekend. But, I'll confess, I just switched over from the Panthers/Packers game to Hannity/Colmes and caught Lurch in the middle of speaking to a black church in New Orleans.

Incidentally, whatever happened to separation of church and state? Oh, that only applies to Christian prayer in public schools - I see. Thanks for clearing that up.

To Kerry, it really is the late 60s. Just as he is re-fighting the Vietnam war and gobbling up even more suspect purple hearts, he's now going to go back in time and join Dr. King in his march on Washington.

He was introduced by Jesse Jackson, traveling with the candidate, who praised Kerry's "integrity," and Baptist president William Shaw, who told the roaring crowd, with a wink: "We can't make endorsements."

Kerry's 45-minute speech was laced with references to the civil rights movement, promises to fight poverty, and exhortations to vote.

"This November we're going to have a new march on Washington to bring your voice and our concerns right to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. I'm ready to march with you. Will you march with me?" Kerry asked, drawing roars from the crowd.

So, if you missed it back in the 60s, you've got a chance to march again in November! However, you may get drafted to fight in Vietnam before then, so don't book your plane tickets quite yet.

Kerry continued presenting his carefully crafted message of "W is for Wookie" and that was good enough for this crowd, who gobbled it up like so many chocolate chip cookies.

Kerry brought the large crowd at the National Baptist Convention USA to its feet several times — the first when he launched into what has become his campaign staple: "W stands for wrong. Wrong choices for Americans, and the wrong direction for America."

The warm reception for the Democrat was in contrast to the chilly one given earlier in the day to an emissary from the Bush administration, Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson, who drew sustained boos when he told the crowd the President was committed to helping blacks.

The crowd stood for Kerry and cheered loudly when he said Bush "claims he is a friend of Black America" but "cannot conceal his identity no matter what clothes he wears." About 30,000 are attending the convention here of America's largest black church group, and the giant hall at the downtown convention center was packed for the candidate's speech.

Also, from the crack AP staff on the scene...

Sen. John Kerry accused President Bush on Thursday of failing the Biblical test set by the Good Samaritan, saying, "He's seen people in need, but he’s crossed over to the other side of the street."

In a speech that blended political rhetoric with Biblical references, the Democratic presidential candidate also branded Supreme Court Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas as out of the mainstream and said Bush will appoint more like them if he wins re-election.

"We have fought too hard and come too far to let George W. Bush roll back generations of progress," Kerry said in remarks prepared for delivery to the National Baptist Convention, the country’s largest predominantly black denomination. "John Edwards and I know that the whole future of civil rights and affirmative action may hinge on a single Supreme Court vote."

These scare tactics are not unexpected - it was simply a matter of when, not if. Democrats have played the race card since the 60s and it's usually worked to get out the black vote. It reminds me of how Al Gore bounced from black church to black church during the 2000 election trying to sound like a preacher at a big tent revival. But, at least Gore was able to put some umph behind his rhetoric. Kerry, conversely, speaks with the same droning, nasal, "I can't believe I have to talk to you people..." tone of voice, betraying his true distaste for the working class, to which he has no true ability to relate.

At least Pastor James Stovall enjoyed the taste of the tainted liberal kool-aid:

"Have we turned back into the chaos of darkness?" asked Pastor James Stovall of Cooksville, Md., before praising Kerry for having "the courage to project what he wants to do for all the people."

Apparently this time, the Dim-O-Cracks are really going to help the black community. They reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllly mean it. Unlike the Godfather LBJ, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, and Gore, this time, they're really going to do something to help.

The only thing they're going to do is help keep the black community in their place so they'll be able to count on them as a guaranteed voting block in 2006, 2008 and beyond.

In the college games, I went 3/5, missing badly (along with everyone else) on the Michigan/ND game. Kudos to the Irish for stepping up and proving everyone wrong. I hope they start sucking again before they come to Knoxville in November.

In the pros, I went 2/4 - nailing the Vikings/Cowboys and Titans/Dolphins games but laying an egg last night in the Chiefs/Broncos game. I do love seeing Dick Vermeil lose, however. Quentin Griffin ran like a man possessed for the Broncos - at 5'7", you'd think he wouldn't have a prayer in the NFL, but he was incredible. Since I picked the Panthers over the Packers tonight, folks in Green Bay should expect a win (hear that, Lisa?).

Did anyone see Eli Manning get his head caved in on the last play of the game in the Giants/Eagles contest? Welcome to the NFL, Eli!

Checking cynicism at the door

On the occassion of the third anniversary of 9/11, Muslim organization apologizes for islamofascist attacks on civilization.

(If primary frames link doesn't work, try this.)

After September 11, many in the Muslim world chose denial and hallucination rather than face up to the sad fact that Muslims perpetrated the 9-11 terrorist acts and that we have an enormous problem with extremism and support for terrorism. Many Muslims, including religious leaders, and "intellectuals" blamed 9-11 on a Jewish conspiracy and went as far as fabricating a tale that 4000 Jews did not show up for work in the World Trade Center on 9-11. Yet others blamed 9-11 on an American right wing conspiracy or the U.S. Government which allegedly wanted an excuse to invade Iraq and "steal" Iraqi oil.

After numerous admissions of guilt by Bin Laden and numerous corroborating admissions by captured top level Al-Qaida operatives, we wonder, does the Muslim leadership have the dignity and courage to apologize for 9-11?

If not 9-11, will we apologize for the murder of school children in Russia?

If not Russia, will we apologize for the train bombings in Madrid, Spain?

If not Spain, will we apologize for suicide bombings in buses, restaurants and other public places?

...

What will it take for Muslims to realize that those who commit mass murder in the name of Islam are not just a few fringe elements?

What will it take for Muslims to realize that we are facing a crisis that is more deadly than the Aids epidemic?

What will it take for Muslims to realize that there is a large evil movement that is turning what was a peaceful religion into a cult?

Will Muslims wake up before it is too late? Or will we continue blaming the Jews and an imaginary Jewish conspiracy? The blaming of all Muslim problems on Jews is a cancer that is destroying Muslim society from within and it must stop.

Taking the advice of one previous commenter, I'm checking my cynicism at the door and taking this one at face value. It is nice to know that at least one muslim organization is willing to speak out about the crimes perpetrated by purveyors of their faith.

The wall of silence that has come from CAIR and the rest of the muslim community in the U.S. has spoken volumes about where they stand in the war (that being, standing idly by, and in some extreme cases, supporting terror). This organization understands that non-muslim Americans - myself included - need to hear that moderate muslims are not silent abettors of terror, but eager to join the fight against it.

Simply put, not only do Muslims need to join the war against terror, we need to take the lead in this war.

60 dead in Iraqi violence today

Granted, we're becoming numb to reports of insurgents and other rebels creating havoc in Iraq, but today there was a different twist. And it's a positive development:

Rockets and mortar shells began raining down before dawn on the Green Zone, headquarters of the Iraqi government and its U.S. allies, and other parts of central Baghdad. As the shelling continued after sunrise, U.S. troops backed by armored vehicles moved into the streets searching for the attackers.

A Bradley fighting vehicle rushing down Haifa Street, a major traffic artery near the Green Zone, to assist a U.S. patrol was disabled by a car bomb about 6:50 a.m., the U.S. military said. Two Bradley crewmen were wounded by the bomb and four were injured by grenades and small-arms fire as they fled the vehicle, the military said.

Jubilant fighters, curiosity seekers and young boys swarmed around the burning vehicle, dancing, cheering and hurling firebombs. Several young men placed a black and yellow banner of Tawhid and Jihad in the barrel of the Bradley's main gun.

Fearing the crowd would loot the vehicle of weapons and ammunition, American soldiers called for air support, and as U.S. Army helicopters flew over the burning Bradley "they received small-arms fire from the insurgents in vicinity of the vehicle," a military statement said.

The helicopters "fired upon the anti-Iraqi forces and the Bradley preventing the loss of sensitive equipment and weapons," the statement said. "An unknown number of insurgents and Iraq civilians were wounded or killed in the incident."

Iraq's Health Ministry said 13 people were killed and 61 wounded on Haifa Street, though it was unclear how many were killed by the helicopter strike. Scattered shoes, pools of fresh blood and debris littered the street.

It's nice to see that the military - at least in this case - was allowed to do its job. However, these would-be piss-ant terrorists were only minding their own business according to this surprised chap:

"We were standing near the destroyed vehicle when the helicopter started firing, so we rushed to safety in a nearby building," Alaa Hassan, 24, said from his hospital bed. "I went back to the scene to help the wounded people when the helicopter fired again and I was hit in the chest."

This will be translated by Al Reuters as the following:

While innocent Iraqis near the broken-down vehicle were collecting canned goods to deliver to orphanages and nursing homes, the U.S. helicopter needlessly rained down hellfire upon them, killing many innocent children in the process.

Fontgate, typegate, rathergate

Even though this was the third anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, shockingly, other news has continued happening - like the continuation of fontgate and the decline of CBS' non-existent credibility. In my opinion, they haven't had credibility since Rather faked his "combat" news reports from the Afghanistan front in the late 70s (or was it early 80s?). I'm in the same boat as Johnny Walker Red however - I don't have the qualifications or the interest to really dig into the story, but plenty of better informed folks are (and Johnny links to many of them):

Little Green Footballs - on the front line in this battle
PoliBlog
Shape of Days - hilarious response to viewer mail
Flounder.Com (Via Allah) - more detail than you could ever want
Allah also has the funniest thing I've seen on the subject - you'll have to go see it for yourself. I'm still laughing.

To summarize this, more and more evidence of tomfoolery keeps coming out, proving the documents are forgeries. Only Rather and the Boston Globe and some goof at PC Mag are defending Rather.

None of this is news to me, however. CBSABCNBCCNN have long been liars and this is just another link in the chain. I realize that this time is different because they were caught redhanded by the blogosphere and alternative media and they have nowhere to hide.

While it's nice to finally have some dogshit to rub Rather's face in, is anyone really going to notice - or more importantly - will this make any kind of difference in the election? I suppose if the Kerry campaign is implicated and proven culpable, it may have an impact, but it's chock-full of such minutia, I just don't see it having any consequence. But that's just me.

This doesn't mean that I'm not enjoying reading about it all over the blogosphere - because I am.

9/11 three years later

I still remember it pretty vividly. I was driving to work - on a rather scenic backroad - it was always a low-stress commute. I was a little late that morning and just before I got to the office, they broke into the news/talk station I was listening to and said that a small commuter plane had crashed into one of the towers of the World Trade Center.

I thought that sounded odd but didn't think a whole lot of it until I got to work and DeAngelo came by my cubicle to say that a plane had crashed into the second tower of the World Trade Center - to which I said "you're full of shit". I went down to my car to get the hand-held miniature TV that I occassionally used to watch the Simpsons on the drive home. As I tuned in NBC, they were showing a replay from the second plane slamming into the second tower. It was completely surreal.

So my boss Leo and I huddled around the little mini TV in the conference room trying to get decent reception. The crowd around our little TV would grow, then drop off, as people went to go back to work or try to call people they knew to find out if they were watching.

I remember everyone asking each other how they thought the fires could be extinguished - until the first tower fell. Then the talk turned to estimated death tolls. All this was interspersed with news from the Pentagon and rumors of four more hijacked planes still flying somewhere. I guess we should have known at that point, if those rumors were true, those planes were going to be shot down. Luckily, there was only one other plane, which brave passengers brought down in Pennsylvania.

Somewhere during that time, I was able to catch up with Mrs. Holmes, who was out of town at a conference. She was justifiably upset about the news and was completely aghast that the women traveling with her barely had a reaction to the news. It wasn't so much that they didn't understand the gravity of the situation, it was more that they didn't have the intellect to understand the gravity of the situation. I was glad their conference was cancelled and she was coming home that night.

Eventually the batteries in my TV ran out and I had to go ask Ed the office curmudgeon to give me some batteries from the company stock, which he grudgingly agreed to. As the news died down and everyone pretended to get back to work, I headed home and started my VCR taping Fox News for the rest of the afternoon. I went back to work, but I'm pretty sure I just spent the rest of the day in shock, surfing the web for news and listening to talk radio.

I remember that night turning on Michael Savage and finally hearing someone express the rage that I was feeling - everyone else was calling it a tragedy - Savage was calling it war - which is exactly what it was and what it remains to this day. It was nice to hear someone drop the politically correct charade and tell it like it is.

For quite a few weeks after that, my boss Leo and I, fearing another attack, would ask each other regularly, "are we going to die?" We were only half-kidding. After that, I slipped into a funk that lasted for months, but eventually went away, until only recently.

I still think of the people we lost, the kids without moms and dads, the absolute evil in the eyes of the islamofascists who attacked us. I hope we'll see plenty of images from the attacks this weekend - but I doubt we'll see it from the Old Media. They've been trying to make us forget about it for three years now. Hopefully we will never forget.

9/12 10:45 PM UPDATE: Mrs. Holmes and I watched HBO's 9/11 In Memoriam last night on DVD. I was actually trying to watch in clandestinely, becuase I didn't think Mrs. Holmes needed to see it. (Unlike many dingbat, democrat-voting, oprah-watching, NOW-celebrating female voters, Mrs. Holmes understands the war on terror and exactly what kind of evil we're facing - she needs no further reminders).

I had purchased the documentary some time ago, but never watched it. I would highly recommend it if you want to really reconnect with the horrors of that day.

It's extremely well done - no political spin - very factual and brutal. They got top level access to Mayor Giuliani's staff and the Mayor himself - and I was reminded how unbelieveable Giuliani was in his response to the attacks. While I don't like some of his typical northeastern liberal Republican politics, the man is the real deal - a true leader in every sense of the word. His response was to New York City as Bush's was to the rest of the country - focused leadership on both counts, and calm under pressure.

The documentary has footage - both home video and professional - from more than 100 different sources, and puts it all together in a neat 60 minute package that really takes you back emotionally to that day. It's very graphic - you get to see a lot of the video that has rarely/never been shown (i.e. people jumping from the trade center, bodies, etc.) - so if you don't think you can handle it, maybe you shouldn't. However, much like the 9/11 movie that was shown on CBS, this is the kind of historical document that is well worth your time. And, no, I don't work for HBO.

NFL Week 1 Picks

Well, last night was a good way to start the season with a barnburner between the Colts & Patriots. With the exception of all the horrible pre-game musical superstar extravaganza vomit, it was an excellent kickoff to the NFL season. This week's picks (games selected completely at random, with the exception of my beloved Titans):

Titans 19 Dolphins 10
Vikings 22 Cowboys 17
Chiefs 27 Broncos 19
Panthers 24 Packers 17
Bucs 31 Redskins 17

I hope no one actually holds me accountable for these.

UPDATE: FYI, I went 4/5 in last week's college picks. I don't know if that's because I picked easy games or got lucky, but that's a good start. I'd put those stats up against anyone but Jeff Quinton.

Dan Rather is an asshole

Not to be confused with my June post, "Tom Brokaw is still an asshole". I don't know, there's something fun about referring to Rather, Jennings and Brokaw as assholes, since that's what they are.

The big scandal this week is that Rather & his 60 Minutes crew broadcast an anti-Bush story (yeah, big shocker), the whole basis of which may have been forged documents from Bush's time in the National Guard.

That's the cliff's notes version. The real story, as Say Anything so deftly points out, is that the New Media has exposed the Old Media for what it is - an antiquated, left-leaning tool for elite liberals based entirely on agenda and often in direct opposition to the truth.

It's not just the blogosphere - it's second-tier news sites like NewsMax, CNS News, World Net Daily. It's alternative news magazines like National Review, The American Spectator, and the like. It's talk radio - namely Savage, Boortz, Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, et al.

I suppose you have to include the Fox News Channel as well, though I would probably lump them in with the mainstream. The only reason they're even called conservative is because they don't spout leftist talking points like ABCCBSNBCCNNMSNBC and the rest. They're NOT conservative, make no mistake about that. No network that hires Greta Van Vampire and Geraldo Riviera can call itself conservative.

The press used to be considered the "watchdog" for excesses and abuses by government, big business and other entities that deserved scrutiny. It's becoming increasingly clear that they are now the entity that most needs watching and this "memo scandal" is simply the latest shining example. It's the combination of all these "outsiders" that are going drum the Old Media out of relevance in the national debate.

Frankly, I haven't paid a whole lot of attention to fontgate, but many other bloggers have. Here is something short of a baker's dozen of them:

Blogosphere 9/11 tributes

Johnny from Right on Red has come up with a good idea for bloggers to enter an empty post on Saturday morning, September 11, at 8:46 am in memory of all the lives lost and destroyed on that day three years ago. The empty space would mean different things to different people - in my case it would be representative of the empty space left by those who were murdered that day by islamofascists - and the emptiness that still haunts the friends and families of those lost.

Chad from In The Bullpen is recommending that bloggers share stories of where they were, what they were doing and their memories of that day.

Both ideas are fitting tributes, and, like a good little digital brownshirt, I'll be marching in lockstep with Johnny & Chad. Spread the word.

College football picks

This weekend and in random order....

Florida State 29 Miami 17
Georgia 24 South Carolina 20
Alabama 28 Ole Miss 10
Michigan 33 Notre Dame 12
Auburn 29 Mississippi St. 13

In NFL news, the Tennessee Titans/Miami Dolphins game will be played SATURDAY, 9/11 instead of its previously scheduled SUNDAY, 9/12.

This is due, of course, to Hurricane Ivan Lendl, who is currently packing a category 5, 160+ MPH forehand.

Pro picks to come tomorrow...

Disclaimer: By the way, as I'm last in my college football betting pool, I may not be the best source of information for your own personal football-related wagering. And betting is illegal anyway, right?

Australia hit again

Have you noticed that islamofascists don't seem to take any time off?

Car bomb kills 8, wounds 161 at Australian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Also, from Fox News:

Thursday's bomb blast came two days before the third anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in the United States. It also coincided with the Indonesian presidential campaign. Two secular nationalists — the incumbent and her former security minister — are running for the top post in the Sept. 20 ballot.

Now, I'm no detective, but, do I detect a pattern here? Does this mean we've got an October surprise coming from the islamofascists here in the U.S. as our election draws near?

Let's roll! (as soon as we get permission from our multi-national coalition)

Via Say Anything:

Cox & Forkum made like Mark McGuire and knocked this one out of the park today.

The passengers of Flight 93 apparently knew there was no such thing as being too confrontational with Islamists bent on your destruction. Their reaction was not a matter of religious sensitivity, or diplomacy, or compromise, or nuance; it was a matter of going on the offensive and fighting for their lives.

Here's to their memory. May they forgive us for not fully living up to it.

Too Much Perspective

Does anyone really remember how you felt after 9/11 - which was, incidentally, three years ago this coming Saturday?

That feeling is back for me and I'm trying to fight it off. I'm not sure if I should, though. This state-of-mind has returned primarily because of the slaughter in Russia last week, with the 9/11 anniversary playing a small part as well. It's a matter of having way too much perspective.

After islamofascists flew airliners into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, I spent the first few days in shock and denial - I think that's how a good number of us reacted. Some of us - particularly those on the political left - are still in denial to this day.

Shortly thereafter, my mood changed to depression mixed with rage mixed with sorrow mixed with hopelessness mixed with disbelief. Another thing I noticed at the time was the inability to laugh. I have always been able to find humor in most any situation, but for weeks and weeks, I had no sense of humor. For that time, I knew what it was like to be an accountant or postal worker.

In the wake of the Russian school slaughter, I've slipped back into humorlessness. In many ways, the incident in Russia was worse than the 9/11 attacks. While 3,000 people died in the U.S. attacks, they were done in an instantaneous fashion - and the only people who got to witness the brutality of the hijackers were those who perished on the planes, as they witnessed the throat-slitting murders of flight attendants and pilots.

The hijackers simply blew themselves up in an instant, devastating the lives of thousands of Americans - that, coupled with instilling worldwide terror and panic, was their goal.

In the Russian slaughter, these vile sub-human stool samples spent three days murdering children and adults in front of other children. They spent three days raping school girls. They spent three days setting off bombs - torturing kids with the threats of more explosions. They shot children in the back. They stabbed babies when they ran out of ammunition. They bayoneted a child who asked for water.

Since the dawn of time, there are countless examples of this kind of inhumanity and cruelty. However, I can't imagine any acts more cowardly and more purely evil than what these gutless motherfuckers spent three days performing - and, worse yet, documenting on film.

It is my sincere hope that the islamofascist murders that died in the seige are currently enduring an eternity of unending torture in hell even as I type. My hope is that they pray to allah, finding no relief for the rest of time. I also hope that those that escaped are not brought to trial in an "international court," as this would only produce a slap on the wrist with some whispers of "good work..." while the cameras are off. Instead, I hope that they are caught by whatever means necessary, and tortured until every bit of terrorism-related intel can be extracted from them, then painfully executed and what's left of them buried in a pork casket.

That being said, I'm going to attempt to pull out of this funk. The more I obsess over islamofascism's assault on civilization, the less I will be able to enjoy all of the blessings and freedoms that I have as an American.

I hope to find a balance between being informed, aware and vigilant while still enjoying life. If I remain this ultra-serious and depressed, I'll start acting like a humorless liberal, spending my time listening to NPR, watching Michael Moore movies and reading the New Yorker at Starbucks. Now that truly would be depressing.

9/9 UPDATE: Via The Politicker:

Ralph Peters of the New York Post has an excellent column making similar observations. It's well worth a full read and it's brief and to the point. Some bits:

THE mass murder of children revolts the human psyche. Herod sending his henchmen to massacre the infants of Bethlehem haunts the Gospels. Nothing in our time was crueler than what the Germans did to children during the Holocaust. Slaughtering the innocents violates a universal human taboo. Or a nearly universal one. Those Muslims who preach Jihad against the West decided years ago that killing Jewish or Christian children is not only acceptable, but pleasing to their god when done by "martyrs."

It isn't politically correct to say this, of course. We're supposed to pretend that Islam is a "religion of peace." All right, then: It's time for Muslims to stand up for the once-noble, nearly lost traditions of their faith and condemn what Arab and Chechen terrorists and blasphemers did in the Russian town of Beslan.

...

The mass hostage situation wasn't about Chechen rebels (and at least 10 Arabs) opposing the Russian government. It was a continuation of the universal struggle between good and evil. And there is no doubt which side is evil, scorned though the word may be by our own elite.

How can any human being with a shred of conscience dismiss what occurred in that school as anything less than evil?

The attack in Beslan wasn't about Russia's brutal incompetence in Chechnya, as counter-productive as Moscow's grim heavy-handedness may have been. It was about religious bigotry so profound that the believer can hold a gun to a child's head, pull the trigger and term the act "divine justice."

Make no mistake: No blame attaches to the Russians for the massacre at that school. The guilt is entirely upon the Islamic extremists who have led the religion they claim to cherish into the realms of nightmare.

And what about those loving protesters on the left?

A final thought: Did any of those protesters who came to Manhattan to denounce our liberation of 50 million Muslims stay an extra day to protest the massacre in Russia? Of course not.

The protesters no more care for dead Russian children than they care for dead Kurds or for the hundreds of thousands of Arabs that Saddam Hussein executed. Or for the ongoing Arab-Muslim slaughter of blacks in Sudan. Nothing's a crime to those protesters unless the deed was committed by America.

The butchery in Russia was a crime against humanity. In every respect. Was any war ever more necessary or just than the War on Terror?

"Nothing is a crime to those protestors unless the deed was commited by America."

That's all you need to know about the radical left, the ANSWER crowd and the useful idiots who inhabit the dim-o-crack party. When you've spent your life attaching the term "evil" to Ronald Reagan, Halliburton, Robert Bork, Enron and George Bush, you forfeit your right to make any value judgments whatsoever.

The fact that you've heard a lot of silence from the left on this is a reminder that their shoddy belief system is threatened whenever news of islamofascism's brutal reality leaks out, and that news must be swept under the rug as quickly as possible - just as the media has buried the images from 9/11.

More details emerge

Via Allah:

News and video continue to seep out of Russia in the aftermath of last week's display by the Religion of Peace. I'm not going to go into too many details because, as I continue to read more and learn more, I am increasingly nauseated and filled with a rage I haven't felt since 9/11.

Here's a shot from the school - a terrified Russian boy getting a first hand indoctrination into the world of islam. There are more pictures here and here if you have the stomach for it. It's understandable if you can't handle the photos and the stories, but if you want to learn about the religion of peace, this is your chance. Additionally, if you can imagine this, the chechens videotaped themselves slaughtering and raping children during the standoff. I won't be watching the videos, but Rusty Shackleford has more video, pics and news from the seige.

I've read the usual bullshit from the NY Times - "this conflict goes back a long time - it's too nuanced to be thought about in such simple terms." The fact is, at least 10 of the terrorists were not Chechen at all - they were arab. This was a joint effort between Al Qaeda and islamic Chechen rebels to attack a common enemy - Moscow. Even Putin is blaming the attack on the West.

MEMRI (Middle-East Media Research Institute) has arab and muslim reaction to last week's events in Russia. Listen to these strong words from Egypt:

An editorial in the Egyptian government daily Al-Ahram said: "The events in the city of Beslan are an ugly crime against humanity. It is impossible that those who carried out the operation had a [legitimate] problem or that they [acted out of] religious belief. This is a group of criminal murderers, and everyone responsible for this crime must be hunted down and brought to trial in an international court. The time has come for everyone to accept as a first principle the sanctity of life and [the obligation] to avoid harming civilians…"

Boy, there's a strong statement from our friends in Egypt. Dig the phrasing, "hunted down and brought to trial in an international court." That will instill terror in the hearts of terrorists everywhere. And I'm sure they reaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllly mean it. And from the warm-hearted Palestinians:

Palestinian columnist Hasan Al-Batal wrote in the PA daily Al-Ayyam under the title "Arab Disgrace in Beslan:" "The day of horror in the school in Beslan, September 1, should be designated an international day for the condemnation of terror, as has been done with other international events… The Arab League Council should visit to show their sympathy with the Russian people and a delegation of Arab leaders should travel to Moscow…

What, travel to Moscow to kill more children? And what do we hear from the government-run Saudi press?

Under the title "Butchers in the Name of Allah," columnist Khaled Hamad Al-Suleiman wrote in the Saudi government daily Okaz: "The propagandists of Jihad succeeded in the span of a few years in distorting the image of Islam, while the enemies of Islam did not succeed in doing this [even] in the course of hundreds of years. They turned today's Islam into something having to do with decapitations, the slashing of throats, abducting innocent civilians and exploding people. They have fixed the image of Muslims in the eyes of the world as barbarians and savages who are not good for anything except slaughtering people…

"The time has come for Muslims to be the first to come out against those interested in abducting Islam in the same way they abducted innocent children. This is the true Jihad these days and this is our obligation, as believing Muslims, towards our monotheistic religion…"

It's a little late for us to believe this from the Saudis, since 19 of them slaughtered 3,000+ Americans just three years ago. That may be news to the Old Media, but, yes, 9/11 did happen - it even made the newspapers!

Oh, wait, how can I forget, it's all the JEWS' fault. Thanks for reminding me, Qatar!

Columnist Ghassan Makhal wrote in the Qatari daily Al-Sharq: "Who stands behind the hostage-taking operation? The Russian government blamed the Chechens but to this day it has not divulged a single name of anyone involved in the operation - this despite the fact that it holds, by its own admission, the bodies of over thirty people. Chechen President and rebel Aslan Maskhadov also said that the Chechens have nothing to do with the operation…

"It is likely that the downing of the planes in Moscow [sic] and the operation against the school in Beslan were part of the struggle that the Putin government is waging against the [Russian] mafia, which has ties to Israel. Therefore it is possible that the Russian Foreign Minister is in Israel in order to negotiate and reach an agreement, or at least to obtain a promise from Sharon that he will mediate [between the government] and this mafia."

Don't expect an outpouring of sympathy from the American muslim community. They're too busy feeling put-upon by all us mean Zionists who spend our day discriminating against them. (Via Say Anything)

There's plenty more to be had, just found these in my regular browsing.

I've said it before, and, of course, I'll say it again. This is the face of islamofascism. This is what we could easily wake up to in anytown U.S.A. If you're going sit back with the leftist apologists and appeasers in this country (there are too many to list, but here's a few: Kerry, Edwards, Clinton, Moore, Rall, Rather/Brokaw/Jennings, Couric, shit, the list goes on and on), then you have no one but yourself to blame when you or a family member is blown up, beheaded, burned or otherwise treated to an "introduction to jihad." The terror cells are here and are well funded. If you find yourself willing to defend a culture that produces the kind of sub-human filth that would bayonet and shoot children in the back, you need to seriously think about what the fuck is wrong with you.

At least one Iraqi columnist seems to be catching on:

Iraqi columnist Aziz Al-Hajj wrote on the progressive Internet site www.elaph.com: "What kind of national cause is this that uses children like gasoline for igniting a total war of destruction in the name of national and religious liberty?… The Islamic-Arab terrorism has turned into the greatest danger in the world, and threatens civilization, security, and life everywhere. It is today the symbol of evil, religious fanaticism, and moral degradation, and it is the essence of political crime in today's world… Islamic terrorism is the outcome of 'moderate' political Islam, as it is generally described. The latest proof of this is Sheikh [Yousef] Al-Qaradhawi's religious legal ruling [ fatwa ] calling for the killing of all Americans in Iraq…

"The Arabs and the Muslims today contribute nothing to civilization and progress except for blood, severed heads, scorched bodies, and the abduction and murder of children. The Jihad for religion and Arab chivalry have turned into the art of exploding, booby-trapping, and spilling blood. What an innovation and what a social contribution the Arabs have made in the 21st century!!"

9/8/04 UPDATE: Johnny Walker Red has a great roundup of blogosphere coverage of the islamic terrorists' actions last week.

As usual, he examined a different angle of the story - by not only rounding up the conservative bloggers' information, but also the coverage by leftist bloggers. The differences are vast and telling.

Most of the self-proclaimed leftist bloggers either ignored the story or blamed the U.S. and the west for causing the circumstances from where people could express their political differences by bayonetting, raping, blowing up and stabbing children. To the left, that's just political self-expression.

Today is Wictory Wednesday. No, the "W" doesn't stand for wrong this and wrong that. I wonder who at the Lurch/John Boy camp thought that one up. What a bunch of idiots. Anyway, I digress as usual.

Wictory Wednesday is a chance for right-thinking bloggers to come together and encourage people to volunteer to help President Bush get re-elected. Ironically, you can't donate money now, due to McCain/Feingold, which the President gleefully signed (that's another story for another day), but you can still volunteer and/or at least try to get people in your sphere of influence to vote the right way.

There is a clear right and wrong in this election - if you want appeasers, terrorist apologists, weakness, socialized medicine, gutting of the military, U.N. control of our national defense, and more, then by all means, vote for the Lurch/John Boy ticket. If you would like to continue fighting the war on terror offensively instead of sitting back waiting for the next strike in the U.S., then you must vote for President Bush - and encourage others to do so as well.

The only issue that matters in this election is the war on terror and the only candidate that understands the realities of the threat is President Bush.

Speaking of Iran...

Via FrontPageMag.Com:

Iran is promising that "the White House's 80 years of exclusive rule are likely to become 80 seconds of hell that will burn to ashes. Those who resist Iran will be struck from directions they never expected".

The question is, now that we've established a beach-head in Iraq, when are we going to end the politically correct version of the war and truly clamp down on Iraq so that we can deal with the bigger threat - Iran?

I already know the answer if Lurch & John Boy get in... they'll meekly request that the United Nations wag their finger at Iran's nuclear program and tell them they better stop, and we really mean it! After which, we'll all be enjoying our new glow from the nuclear fallout brought to you the good mullahs of Iran, Syria and their partners in crime, the Saudis.

If President Junior gets re-elected, will he continue to get on his knees and pray at the doorsteps of the Iraqi mosques, or actually kill the terrorists that use them as hiding places and ammo dumps? Or will we have to wait on Israel to take care of the nuclear problem for us, as they did with Iraq in the early 1980s?

I'm not seeing a silver lining here - somebody please provide one at your earliest convenience. Thanks in advance.

Putin is not our friend?

Allahpundit has been gracious enough to remind us that Vlad Putin is not our friend.

There's nothing like grief to shorten people's memories. As Allah looks around the 'sphere, he finds many fine folks responding to the horror in Beslan with not only sympathy for the victims of the attack but solidarity with Vladimir Putin and Russia as a whole.

Allah hates to spoil the pity party, but in case it wasn't already abundantly clear after shit like this and this and this, Vladimir Putin is not your friend. Just ask him yourself.

Allah reminds us of the history of Putin's behind-the-scenes support of Iraq throughout, and up until the end of, the Hussein "administration". He also provides some more news from last week's school slaughter, noting that while Putin shows his grief to the public, out of the other side of his mouth, he is helping Iran with its nuclear program so that the islamofascists can turn more schools and cities into piles of burned out rubble littered with the bodies of infidels.

I had forgotten much of this history myself until Allah reminded me. It doesn't change the grief I feel for the families of the slaughtered, but it does temper my solidarity with Putin's gang. Will Putin learn from this? I suppose we'll see soon enough.

Vacation over, back to reality

Been out of town and out of touch this weekend. It was fun, but not entirely relaxing. It's never truly relaxing with two little ones, but it's usually fun just the same. So, what have I missed?

  • In what has become an artistic tradition at NYU, a graduate student jumped to her death Monday from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. It's being called an "intentional fall" - though no one has come out and referred to it as a piece of performance art. Other students at NYU have gotten into the craze over the last year - four others dove to their deaths in performance art suicides, while one simply scarfed down one too many shrooms.
  • Ol' Bubba came through his surgery today. This blogger is glad he made it through. He's the only likeable Clinton. If it had been Hillary, well, I better not say. Speaking of this, Say Anything notes the difference in how right-thinking bloggers have responded to Bubba's bypass in contrast to how pants-shitting leftists responded to the recent death of Ronald Reagan. Rob links to this Dim-O-Crack Underground message board where one leftist well-wisher's love note to Ronnie stated: "i don't care what killed him, alzhiemers or the black plague, i'm glad he's dead and i don't care how many times i'm scolded or chastised for it..." It only gets worse from there. If you want some insight into true hate speech, visit D.U. and you'll find it.
  • Michelle Malkin has some more information on last week's Russian school massacre. She also has a clip from Palestinian Authority TV showing how their terror indoctrination and dreams of martrydom start when they're toddlers. She includes this link from London's Mirror describing the horror of what went on inside that school. I repeat, if you aren't prepared to face the fact that we're up against global islamofascism - which is evil incarnate - for our very survival, you need to get the hell out of the way. A vote for Kerry/Edwards is a vote for acquiescence, weakness and defeat. Our defeat.
  • It's not all bad news, however, as Israel was able to wipe out 14 palestinian terrorists today.
That's it for tonight. Another week ahead of work, work, work, work, blog, work, work, blog, rinse, repeat, flush...

Hurricane Frances wreaks havocs with my webhost

Due to the fact that my webhost is located in South Florida, they shut their servers down for most of the day today, but it looks like we're back in business. I guess it's really my fault for burning fossil fuels, which depleted the ozone layer, which made the atmosphere more unstable, which produced more weather phenomena (tornadoes, hurricanes, cyclones, monsoons, droughts, etc), which in turn, created Hurricane Frances, which forced my webhost to shut their servers down for a day. It's all my fault so I deserve it.

In other news, Time & Newsweek are reporting 10 point leads for President Junior. She's so bent out of shape, Theresa Heinz-Ketchup was taken to a hospital yesterday for acute insanity and released. Ratings show that more people tuned into the GOP Convention than the Dim-O-Cracks convention. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Anyway, hope you're all having a good extended weekend.

Arabs among the terrorists in Russia

Via Jihad Watch: 10 of the 20 "militants" killed in the raid on the Russian school today were not only islamofascists, but arab islamofascists. According to CBS News:

Twenty militants were killed in gunfights with security forces, 10 of them Arabs, Valery Andreyev, the region's Federal Security Service chief, said in televised comments. President Vladmir Putin's adviser on Chechnya, Aslanbek Aslakhanov, also said a number of the dead militants were Arab mercenaries.

After trading fire with militants holed up in the basement of a school annex, officials said the fighting was over, but that two militants remained at large. Three suspected hostage-takers were arrested trying to escape wearing civilian dress, Channel One TV reported, and Ekho Moskvy radio said a suspected female hostage-taker was detained when she approached an area hospital wearing a white robe.

Jihad Watch also provides photos from today's events.

It is still my hope that many of these terrorists died extremely painful deaths. Like I've said, if you don't think this type of thing is coming our way, you're kidding yourself. If these lunatics will slaughter 200 children - and don't tell me it's for independence - these subhumans are evil - they would give anything to slaughter 200 American children. This is evil, pure and simple, and if you don't have the balls to call it by its name, then you're in league with the enemy.

UPDATE: More from the Russian AP.

Does anyone else feel drained?

It's been a damn busy week in the world of politics/current events. I'm feeling pretty spent as a result of it. Plus work has sucked, but that's another story for another day.

Consequently, it's time for some college football picks for the coming weekend.

Tennessee 20 UNLV 12
Memphis 29 Ole Miss 24
Vanderbilt 24 South Carolina 22
LSU 34 Oregon St. 19
Alabama 1, Utah State 0

In other news... Bill Clinton is having bypass surgery. Get well soon, Bubba. Hurricane Frances is weakening. They're still sorting out the aftermath of the Russian school hostage situation. At least President Junior is laying the blame on the situation where it belongs - with the terrorists.

In election news, this headline is "Bush and Kerry Hit Road, Trade Blows on Jobs." Am I the only one who sees a joke in there somewhere?

Blogging may or may not be light this holiday weekend. I'm heading out of town and I'm not sure if I'll have a good web connection - and even if I do, I don't know how much time I'll get, so we'll see.

I heart Michelle Malkin

Damn she's good.

GOP convention mercifully over

I didn't watch much of the President's speech last night, I will admit. What I am hearing, however, is that he didn't do too badly. Given his tendencies towards non-eloquence and mangling the English language, the bar is never set too high for a Bush speech. I did tune in long enough to hear him say something in Spanish. I'm sure that won over 3 or 4 voters.

Other folks with a lot better convention information than me:

Allah has knocked it out of the park all week with his liveblogging.

Johnny at Right on Red has a roundup, and his own keen insight into the proceedings.

Kevin over at Wizbang chronicles how Kerry went off the rails last night after the speech.

Matt at Blogs for Bush says it went well.

Though these are some of my favorites, there's plenty more of it out there, so go find it if you're so inclined.

Russia storms school

From FoxNews - Russians storm school - gunfire continues.

All the hundreds of hostages had been evacuated from the gymnasium where militants had put them after seizing the building on Wednesday, the Interfax news agency said. About 120 children were believed to be among the 200 wounded in the raid, regional emergency officials said.

An Associated Press reporter heard gunfire throughout the town, and two columns of smoke rose from the school. Four armed men in civilan clothes running from school, and asked if they were looking for someone, one answered, "A militant ran this way."

Some children were covered in blood, some of them carried away to a temporary hospital set up behind an armored personnel carrier. Many were only partly clothed because of the stifling heat in the gymnasium where they had been held since the militants took the building, and drank eagerly from bottles of water given to them once they reached safety.

A nurse spread clean sheets on stretchers, and told AP that Russian officials expected "very many" wounded. In another part of town, several dead were covered with white sheets, and a woman peered under one to see who the slain person was.

Five militants were killed in the raid, the ITAR-Tass news agency said. The Interfax new agency said several militants who escaped the school were in a local residence surrounded by troops.

The assault came after several explosions boomed from the area and dozens of hostages fled the school.

It may be a while before this is all sorted out but my hope is that as many hostages are rescued as possible and that every "militant" is killed in some painful manner.

12:50 PM UPDATE: According to the BBC, the seige is over. Death toll appears 150 or more - considering the fact that the number of hostages has now been estimated as high as 1,200, this could have been far worse. Details are still sketchy, however.

LGF notes that the UK's Guardian is blaming Putin for the deaths. I expect to hear more of this blaming Putin (especially from the E.U., but also from the Old Media here in the U.S.) and less blaming of the Chechen "separatists". It's just another way the media will prove their complicity in this crime against humanity.

On the bright side, Robert Spencer reports that one of the terrorists that was trying to flee was beaten to death by the crowd outside. Hopefully the Russian authorities will turn the rest of the captured terrorists over to this same crowd. At least some of these folks understand applying instantaneous justice.

Russian school standoff part 3

It's hard to pay attention to the GOP convention and all the feel-good flag waving while this hostage situation continues. It doesn't help that we all know it's going to end badly.

Maybe it's because I'm blessed enough to have small children, maybe it's because I pay attention to the islamic jihadists' war on the west - maybe I'm burned out on the election already. For some reason, this is the only story that matters right now.

This is all part of Russia's 9/11 - and unlike our attacks, theirs is not all neatly wrapped up into one day's slaughter. It's two planes here, a subway bombing there, now the taking of hundreds of children as hostages.

If anyone in the U.S. is delusional enough to think that we're not vulnerable to this same type of attack, you're living in a fucking dreamworld and you need your teeth slapped loose to wake your ignorant ass up.

There are terror cells all over the U.S. - well funded enough to pull off a piss-ant operation like this for sure. It doesn't take much funding to take over a school - and it certainly doesn't take much courage to hold a bunch of students and parents hostage. This is exactly the type of insanity that we have to defend ourselves against and the more complacent we become - and the more we listen to appeasers and apologists like Kerry, Moore, CBSNBCABCCNN, et al, - the more vulnerable we become and the more likely it is that we're going to suffer an attack much greater than we've seen to date.

In short, wake up and pay attention and get with the program, fuckers.

Other blogging:

Logic & Sanity is still on the case.

LaShawn Barber cut her vacation short to talk about the nightmare.

Little Green Footballs identifies the elephant in the room.

Mypetjawa notes that Russia has declared war.

Rob at Say Anything believes that Russia finally gets it.

Let me repeat: the French are our enemy

Iraqi terrorists hand over French hostages.

What more proof do you need that the French have been in collusion with the islamofascists all along? They are allies, only because they have a common enemy: the United States.

The French are quick to cooperate with any islamists because their own open borders have allowed their muslim immigrant population to spread like wildfire - making them a highly influential political force. Additionally, due to the violent and brutal nature of the jihadists, this is one special interest group that has to be cow-towed to, under penalty of death.

In American politics, we have our own special interest groups, but the only threats they make are withholding voting blocs. When you have an islamofascist special interest group the size of the one in France, it's no wonder the French government pays them protection money as if they were a schoolyard bully demanding their milk money.

This is just another in a long line of reasons to despise the French and hate the terrorists. It's hard to say which is worse - the terrorists or the governments that empower and enable them.

Rusty over at mypetjawa is justifiably pissed off and I share his rage. His take:

What????!!!!??? Are you fu**ing kidding me? 31 other hostages are dead! 31!!!! And two fu**ing frog journalists are threatened with death and the whole fu**ing Islamic world rises up to their defense? Just last night three Turkish hostages were murdered. Three...yesterday!!! The day before that TWELVE!!! You sons of whores in the Islamic world. You bastards. Where were you when Kim Sun-Il begged for his life? When Enzo Baldoni was awaiting his certain death sentence, why were you not out protesting for his release? For a month 12 Nepalese hostages plead for their lives, where were you? You bastards. You bloody bastards. Damn you for this. Damn you to hell.

I second that emotion.

President Junior a rapist?

That's what "poet" Molly Birnbaum upchucked Wednesday night at a NOW Rally in NYC's Central Park. Via Say Anything.

A featured performer at a National Organization for Women rally accused President Bush of having "savagely raped " women "over and over" by allegedly stealing the 2000 presidential election.

Poet Molly Birnbaum read aloud to a crowd of feminists gathered in New York's Central Park on Wednesday night, as part of a NOW event dubbed "Code Red: Stop the Bush Agenda Rally."

"Imagine a way to erase that night four years ago when you (President Bush) savagely raped every pandemic woman over and over with each vote you got, a thrust with each state you stole," Birnbaum said from the podium. (If something is pandemic, it affects many people or a number of countries.)

"A smack with each bill you passed, a tear with each right you took until you left me disenfranchised with hands shackled and voice restrained. Thanks for that night, Mr. President, I can barely remember my tomorrows," Birnbaum said to applause.

Birnbaum's reading was followed by a performance by Gina Young, described as a singer of "feminist folk punk." Young's song included the following verse about Bush:

"I got better grades than you, you stupid boy W. Your dad was a killer, too, and you know that nobody voted for you," Young sang as the crowd erupted in applause.

"I object not just to this war, but to all of the things that you stand for, like dropping bombs to lower the price of gas. I guess the Constitution is just some piece of scrap paper you use to wipe you're a**, you bastard," Young sang to more applause.

Just another gathering of typical open-minded, peace-loving liberals - spreading their loving viewpoint... with loving kindness and love.

Lurch's Nashville rally infiltrated

Via Right on Red, Nashville Files blogger infiltrates Kerry rally.

I knew someone would come through for me. Check out the Nashville Files blog for Blake's excellent undercover work. He did this at great risk of bodily harm - you know how peaceful those dim-o-cracks can be when they find out you're an evil conservative!

Russian school terror update

Two new items this morning in the continued standoff between Russian authorities and Chechen islamofascists.

First, there have been two big explosions heard coming from the school. There don't seem to me many more details than that at this point.

Second, the Russian FSA has ruled out the use of force in freeing the hostages. It looks like they're trying to avoid the blood bath that happened when islamofascists attacked a theater in 2002 resulting in more than 100 deaths, from what I recall.

I'm sure more news will break during the day - I'll try to provide some links to information as I find it.

1:45 PM UPDATE: "Militants" release 31 hostages. They're still calling them militants, of course.

4:50 PM UPDATE: Logic & Sanity has further updates from today's action in Russia. This includes many new details and some heartbreaking photos as well. There hasn't been much new news to report this afternoon.

Zell's pile-driver

If you didn't get to see Zell Miller take Lurch and the Dim-O-Cracks to the woodshed last night, here is your video link.

As they say down here in southern wrestling circles, Zell stomped a mud-hole in him and walked it dry.

8:25 UPDATE: Johnny over at Right On Red was surprised that Zell was able to top Rudy's Monday night speech - check out his analysis.

Kevin at Wizbang has a great link to video of Zell Miller vs. Chris Matthews on Softball last night.

Michelle Malkin put her own 2 cents worth on Zell's speech.

Allah's liveblogging should be revisited as well.

G-Mail Invites

I was wondering how long it would take to get some g-mail invites. I've got six and I'm going to give away three.

I can think of three family members off hand who will probably use the others. If not, I'll give those away as well. If you want one, shoot me an e-mail at sixmeat - at - gmail - dot - com. I'll let folks know how many are left as they're snatched up.

RNC: Liveblogging night 3

Allah is at it again. He's already covered the first few speakers/events/filmstrips/slideshows. I'm so sorry I missed the shot of Sheri Valera, but Allah promises to have the video online at some point.

Visit Allah for what I'm sure will be outstanding coverage of tonight's festivities. I'll put my two cents worth in from time to time, depending on who's playing tonight at the U.S. Open. Right now they're showing the Bryan Bros playing doubles.

10:10 PM UPDATE: Zell Miller has started ranting - he started out stiff as a damn piece of cardboard but seems to have relaxed. Red State is reporting that there was trouble behind the scenes regarding Zell's speech tonight. Apparently it was "too conservative". Isn't that ironic?!? Project USA is reporting that Zell may have stepped out of line by bringing up illegal immigration. According to Karl Rove, that's a no-no at this convention (and with good reason, given President Junior's call for amnesty and torrid love affair with Vicente Fox).

10:26 PM UPDATE: Well, Zell just ripped Kerry and the Dim-O-Cracks a new asshole. Everything else that happens tonight will pale in comparison to that verbal gangland-style beat-down. Allah's review: "The guy was stupendous. If Cheney wants to follow that act, he better come out with bin Laden's head on a f***ing stick."

Kobe is off the hook

Not off the hook as in, "man, that party was off the hook!", but as in, charges dropped. I had a feeling this might happen.

ABC News: Prosecution requests charges against Kobe Bryant be dismissed with prejudice.

Islamofascists love children

In fact, they love them so much, that they have taken 200 of them hostage in a Russian school.

Boortz has pointed out this morning that ABCNBCCNNCBSMSNBC still refuse to refer to these people as islamic terrorists - which is what they are - and even in this Fox News story, you have to scroll down to the bottom for the first mention of their muslim identity.

There were 17 attackers, both male and female, Interfax said, citing Ismel Shaov, a regional spokesman for the Federal Security Service.

In television footage from outside the school in Beslan, a town about 10 miles north of the regional capital of Vladikavkaz, men in camouflage with heavy-caliber machine guns took up positions on the perimeter and other men in civilian dress with light automatic rifles paced nervously.

At one point, a girl in a floral print dress and a red bow in her hair ran around a corner apparently after fleeing from the school, her hand held by a flak-jacketed soldier, followed by an older woman. Russian news reports said about 50 students managed to escape, some after hiding in the school's boiler room during the raid.

"I was standing near the gates, music was playing when I saw three armed people running with guns, at first I though it was a joke, when they fired in the air and we fled," a teenage witness, Zarubek Tsumartov, said on Russian television.

The attack was the latest in a string of violence that has tormented Russians and plagued the government of Putin, who came to power in 2000 vowing to crush the Chechen rebels.

Terrorism fears in Russia have risen markedly following the plane crashes and the homicide bombing outside a Moscow subway station Tuesday night. The blast by a female attacker tore through a busy area between the station and a department store, killing 10 people and wounded more than 50.

A militant Muslim web site published a statement claiming responsibility for the bombing on behalf of the "Islambouli Brigades," a group that also claimed responsibility for the airliner crashes. The statements could not immediately be verified.

The statement said Tuesday's bombing was a blow against Putin, "who slaughtered Muslims time and again." Putin has refused to negotiate with rebels in predominantly Muslim Chechnya who have fought Russian forces for most of the past decade, saying they must be wiped out.

Several female homicide bombers allegedly connected with the rebels have caused carnage in Moscow and other Russian cities in a series of attacks in recent years.

When you hear the Old Media refer to Chechen Rebels, know that it really means islamic jihadists. The political correctness that swirls through the Old Media like the great sewer that it is, will get us all slaughtered if allowed to continue. Don't be conditioned by the Old Media's love of the Religion of Peace. I hope that Putin comes down hard on these "rebels" and that the jihadists in Chechnya are dealt with in a swift and complete fashion.

11:00 AM UPDATE: While the number of hostages has been dropped to "between 120 and 150", these purveyors of the Religion of Peace are now promising to kill 50 children for each "fighter" that is killed, and 20 children for each "fighter" that is injured. Also note that this update, via al Reuters news service, doesn't mention their islamic ties, beyond mentioning that the rebels have turned down negotiation attempts by a local muslim leader.

1:00 PM UPDATE: Fox News and other sources are reporting 8 people killed so far, including at least one parent. I've been checking Russia's TASS propaganda machine, and they're not providing squat for details - I probably shouldn't go to government-run media for breaking news anyway. Isn't it brave of these islamic militants to take over a school full of 1st and 2nd graders? These brave muslims are doing allah proud, I'm sure. Do they get bonus virgins for killing children?

2:30 PM UPDATE: Backcountry Conservative has a good ongoing rundown of blogosphere coverage of the hostage standoff.

3:10 PM UPDATE: Courtesy of Rusty Shackleford, Logic & Sanity has a very detailed and ongoing roundup of news off the wires in Russia and elsewhere.

Guns and Dope

I tripped over this very interesting website for the Guns and Dope Party - they are endorsing everybody for president. Their platform consists of:

  • Guns for those who want them, no guns for those who don't.
  • Drugs for those who want them, no drugs for those who don't.
  • An end to Tsarism and return to constitutional democracy.
  • Equal rights for ostriches.
While Six Meat Buffet does not endorse illicit drug use, this little-known political party just may be the party a lot of us independents are looking for. They also have the laudable goal of 33% ostriches in congress. Odds are, if you put a couple of big yes/no buttons for the ostriches to peck at, they would do a much better job of voting than people like Nancy Pelosi, Charlie Rangel, Cynthia McKinney, et al. Or, they could be like John Kerry and just not show up to vote.
